here goes again 3rd time lucky
3kw load...13amp spur...does this comply.
My thinking is that previously it would have but not now.
previously 3000w/240volt=12.5amp....all ok
now stated voltage is 230 not 240
so
3000w/230volt=13.05amp marginally over
but to me it does...
how come the wholesalers can rip us off to buy a Triple pole mcb it is over 50 quid, but to buy a single pole one can be one pound fifty....To me it just looks like 3 single poles with a wee bar linking them,no further electronic wizardry? I could be wrong,
i dont have a link but i could prob take a photo. They come inside these ips pre built bespoke panels made by a company called bender in uk.(I think they are german, but operate globally.)
dont think this is the same guy,he only charged me 40 quid for a triple pole 100 amp contactor and enclosure, mind you he said it was sitting on his shelf for ages and was looking rid of it.
Sorry meant to say live..rather than line, neutral IS classed as a live conductor.
And without getting too ---- about the whole thing....We have to consider all possible scenarios.
We may wish to do work to a particular circuit without turning off the whole board. It is unlikely that all circuits...
I'm wondering have any members got any experience with testing in group 2 medical locations?specifically I was wondering how to go about testing the anti static flooring. There are copper tapes coming out of the vinyl flooring which I'm guessing have to be terminated to 4mm earth cables and run...
I think they are......In a TT installation neutral is also classed as a line conductor,And as such if isolation to a particular circuit is required for maintenance or alteration we are supposed to be able to isolate both poles without having to knock the whole installation off via the mainswitch...
Theres awee shop in glasgow sells new/second hand circuit breakers. He's got quite a big stock of odd and hard to get ones.Very reasonable and can post out. He's not online you have to call or phone him.He doesn't mind posting out.I have his number somewhere if you want it.
Try testing live (load side) to earth only(neutral and earth probes)
Did an rcd spur work out cheaper than fitting an rcbo at the board?and where did you site it?Above the ceiling?
What’s a commercial kitchen got to do with a boiler house?
Nothing pal,I'm out of the plant room and into kitchen now..So just to reiterate we are now saying that most modern switches, isolators disconnectors,or whatever they are now called with a marked neutral will have an early make late...
so.....I'd assume then that the main isolator at the dist board where everything is fed from shouldn't be switching the neutral either? which it is, and possibly the mccb feeding the sub main too...all these in theory could have the same effect.....floating neutral? and what about commercial...
me too..lol!! I havn't taken them out of the box yet but they look the ticket for less than a fiver, can't go wrong.
And I am a cheapskate but dont shop at aldi...co.op orange stickers all the way.
I wonder have any of you motor experts any thoughts on this.I was testing a plantroom today with many 3phase isolators fitted for pumps and panels etc. The isolators used were 4 pole rotary type(20 amp mostly). The installing electrician who wasn't present had connected up only the three phases...
