    I tend to find people remove the ceiling rose they have all these cables poking out of the ceiling the switch drop is wired in 2 colour t&e the sleeving falls off of the switch wire so this now looks like a neutral all colours together in connector blocks they turn on the mcb switch on the light...

    The 400w rating of your switch is fine for a 250w load, as Durham says you have probably got your light fitting connected into the loop which is always live while the circuit is energised. This is a common problem when people replace the celing rose with a fitting.

    I have had similar problems on conventional systems and has turned out to be the heating pump or motorised valve knackered.

    The printed certs look more professional but the pads are handy If you want to do the job, test it & fill out the cert there and then leave it with the customer.

    I am with Napit and they use: Minor Works/Single circuit Electrical Certificate. I brought these from Napit when I joined. I had never heard of these before joining they are different to the IEE certs, normally as stated above you cant use a MEIC for adding a new circuit.

    Please keep us posted mate, it would be good to know how you get on, when I called them to ask the same question they would not tell me what grade I would get over the phone they said just send in copys of your certs along with the other stuff and they would look into it.
