    I grasped all that ages ago Glen, but my point is that it seems we have to treat all installs as TNCS with all the associated issues, even if you think its TNS, because its most probably been PME'd???

    I think everyone missed the point, your shower is not an electric shower which is instantaneous, around 8-10kW, yours is main fed, hot and cold water with a pump, so your switched fused connection unit outside shower supplies power to the pump.

    From experience I know that the size is the same it is just different conductor material,but to test the way you mentioned would not give you any indication of them being thesame or different size,. It will only give a very low Loop L-CPC to compare with L-N, because laminated aluminium tape...

    May be do a long lead method. One end at CU one leg and go through sockets with other end with kewtech plug in thyngy till you locate the fault? But if you do a proper 3 step ring continiuty testing, it would come up.
