I grasped all that ages ago Glen, but my point is that it seems we have to treat all installs as TNCS with all the associated issues, even if you think its TNS, because its most probably been PME'd???
But it does not make sense anymore, so basically we have to treat all installations as TNCS supplies, are we? All that lost neutrals and exported earth and all that???
Thanks for that, its news to me, but they never contacted anyone, and the guy from DNO worked unofficially, just helping out the mate. On the other hand he new for sure from experience that PME is available, and who cares to ask then I suppose...
Hi guys, need some opinions from big boys. I will try to be short as possible.
I was helping on big rewire the other month for the well-respected electrician mate. On tests before the job the Ze was 6.7 ohmson TNS supply, so the guy called the other mate who works for DNO as the head...
I think everyone missed the point, your shower is not an electric shower which is instantaneous, around 8-10kW, yours is main fed, hot and cold water with a pump, so your switched fused connection unit outside shower supplies power to the pump.
Seems strange that you say recently finished Level 2 and you already have a Level 3 exam, unless you call recently last year.
Or is it, that 2 weeks ago you finished your Level 2 and last 2 weeks u done your Level 3 and hence now your exam, I suppose you will have 1 week for inspection and...
From experience I know that the size is the same it is just different conductor material, but to test the way you mentioned would not give you any indication of them being thesame or different size,. It will only give a very low Loop L-CPC to compare with L-N, because laminated aluminium tape...
May be do a long lead method. One end at CU one leg and go through sockets with other end with kewtech plug in thyngy till you locate the fault? But if you do a proper 3 step ring continiuty testing, it would come up.
Your protection device for sub main circuit in the main board does not need to be greater than the main switch in the sub main board, because the Main switch is just that SWITCH there is no fuse in it. The 63A label on your switch just saying that this switch can safely operate up to 63A, that’s...

Hi. If you took the Amp ratings from MCB’s, I would be well interested to know in circuits 1, 2, 7, 11 and 12, what size of cable they protecting especially for shower 60A, it has to be a hell of a shower and a hell of a cable…..and then cooker 50A, that would be a very powerfull cooker???

There should be no confusion at all on this one.
There is only one Ze at the installation, no mater domestic commercial industrial or whatever, and it is at the main incomer of supply, all the rest will be Zs Or Zdb, no matter how many boards you have, it is still not external is there? You may...
