    Try testing the rcd from the terminals with no load on the circuit.

    If its 16mm twin and earth then i would say no as the earth is not a large enough conductor size to be used as a combined earthing and bonding conductor back to the met Tim

    Some people just dont understand the dangers. I was doubting wether to code it on my eicr because its not part of the 'fixed wiring' that i was testing. I gave it a c2 in the end as it is potencially dangerous and the landlord should know what the tennants are doing with her flat.

    I didnt ask but my guess is a himself or a family member brought it over and grabbed what ever they could to make it fit in 13a socket. The adaptor didnt even have an earth pin

    Certanly was, im having a few of them today, i just coded an rcd because the 48ms didnt meet the <40ms requirements for 1x at 30ma. Then i relised thats 5x. Im going for lunch and a red bull to get me back on form. Cheers, Tim

    Sorry i should have been clearer in my OP. Incoming water is plastic, its partly copper after the stop cock. Its an electric immersion heater so gas or oil. The metalic water pipes do not leave the property. You have confirmed what i thought, my only issue was that the earth in the spurs...

    Thanks for the reply, Stop cock to immersion heater is copper (its in the same cupboard) Stop cock to kitchen taps is copper with plastic joiners (stop cock is in the kitchen) ensuite is plastic with metal flexy hose bathroom is plastic with metal flexy hose This install is only 4ish years...
