Hi all
Well back today electrically disconnected heater from tub & installed link through fused spur to heater, turned on heater working but with earth clamp round L/N supply to tub 50.1ma whilst heater on.
So my guess although heater unit is heating & the IR test 400M ohm to earth &...
hi all
install few months back used tri rated in metal trunking nice slot direct above head with protection & no gap, Siemens engineer turned up to make connection & install fuses to the head mentioned they will not connect to tri rated anymore.
think it was bi rated at that size not tri rated...
if you have 50mm behind that pipe then use 100x50 trunking run in behind pipe, run along top of consumer unit & use top entry through the trunking use brass bush or plastic bush, put stop end on the trunking lid on, job done nice & tidy.
not had issues with being compliant with latest regs we...

HI J.C.E
yes I understand that & also the fact if I allow in the price of the job around £400-£500 for a 200A switch fuse I might not get the job.
more worrying would be safe isolation & sending in one of my workers to work on the system that can only be partially be isolated from head to meter...

Hi Cadgey123
we are in the UKPN region & in their literature the wording is "strongly advised to fit a switch or switch fuse, also no recourse to pull the main fuses"
the unit would not be fed from a switch fuse by any chance when the transformer went down could of taken out a fuse?
also not sure if those are uninsulated cables on the supply side of the transformer not in the protected case but you might want to trim them back later.
Hi J.C.E
quite lucky really you got an isolator after the Head before the Ryefield as it is only strongly advised by UKPN, a lot of companies fit the ryefield panel without the switch/ switch fuse. If the Ryefield is a 63amp unit & the correct fuse is fitted in the ryefield panel then it won't...
Hi All
