hi all
just been asked to do 5 caravan hookups for a local park just starting.
just wanted to pick you guys brains
would you generally run one cable per hook up or put them all on one radial circuit with each one feeding the next.
ive a total run of about 80m so its either 5 x 1.5mm armour or 1x...
ive used lots (and lots)of fast 4 and irwin bits and some cheap copys.
you can re touch them with a file when worn..but nails are a problem.
i love em an 18v battery drill will do a 25 mm hole in a joist as a rule but a 240v angle drill and you can drill through anything made of wood no worrys...
gosh...
did we wake you...
mad...yes
just adjust your quotes to suit...
the worst thing is that when you (i) ring the labc or the office of your local building inspector they know nothing..can give no advice..cant give the name of anyone or company that can....but still get shirty with you if...
i think the point we need to remember is that if we fit any fans then we may be requuired to airflow test and cert it!
to avoid this state that air flow tests and certs should be carried out by others on all your quotes.
to follow up
went to their job today..it was for boots the chem and involved a pi on a flat above one of their shops.
as it happened it had been empty for 2 or 3 years and had £400 debit on the key meter!
on the phone they have told me that they will pay for my time today ie call out fee...and...
hi all
just wondering if anyone has heard of just maintain uk...708 wimborne rd,winton, bournemouth.
they contacted me yesterday regarding work in devon.
have recived some paper work from them by email but it looks a bit micky mouse to me.
cheers all
vitoboy
paturback.
yep..should have listened er or looked at your post more carefully.
called the building inspector this morn..he couldnt direct me to what qualifications i needed to fill in the cert...or where you can buy a metre..or any company who do do the test...
in the end he directed me to labc...
marvo ta mate
can you or anyone else direct me to more info on airflow testing.
my concern is do i need a part f compliant meter.
the only one i can see anywhere on the net is the airflow lca301.
then you need a hood that fits over the exit grill..then calculate the loss of flow due to meter...
marvo
im not sure if that will give you acceptable readings or measure in l/s.
i can find lots of cheap hand held ones but there not for measuring this sort of thing..i think
must be a spec for this sort of thing as is for our insulation/earth loop testers..other wise the test means nowt
lev qualifyed
please tell me more.
to me this is just like waking up one day and finding you need to be qualifyed to nail wood in order to fit a noggin.
anyhow ive quoted to suppy fit and wire only.
this maybe the case...
but why?
how come there are no web sites stuffed with part f testers
and collages doing part f cert courses
and nice big PART F stickers for pour vans (£14.99 each + vat)
come on paul....spill the beans
interesting point by bluetobits about items being part of the building hence owned by the building owner not yourself.
my t&c state all parts supplyed by me remain the property of me until paid in full.
do you mean that i cant go remove that new rcbo filled c/u from a non paying customers...
er no..
you need to look at the list of what counts as a single level extention and it seems its a car port or covered yard/walkway only.
anyone know if the nic are aware of this i would have expected to find something in connections..maybe ill try the nic help line.
bad news boys
have been on the phone to labc today and directed to the planning portal and from there to the domestic compliance guides for ventilation and part f.
oooh great..
from there is section five which includes a 6 page cert to be filled in with the sort of questions we have to answer on...
