Shower EICR Code- 9.5kW- 40amp mcb!. De rate MCB to 32 or rewire cable to 10mm

Ahh, sorry. I always thought that an EICR was a report on the condition of the installation, and the outcome is based solely on it's condition, not what we want the outcome to be.

Shower EICR Code- 9.5kW- 40amp mcb!. De rate MCB to 32 or rewire cable to 10mm

Would surely be a cheaper/quicker fix than rewiring though? And a better option than down rating and therefore overloading a breaker (lets be honest this would be poor design!).

Shower EICR Code- 9.5kW- 40amp mcb!. De rate MCB to 32 or rewire cable to 10mm

Simplest answer is to advise fitting a lower powered shower!

    Max demand for Caravan site

Ahh yes I am a real simpleton, wasn't thinking beyond what I've seen, i.e. touring caravans.

    Max demand for Caravan site

Excuse my ignorance, I've never done any campsites before, but I always thought the standard was a 10A supply for each plot? I have been to a few sites (on holiday) and this is what I've seen in each case. Obviously I'm out of date, but I am interested in learning!

    Settle this Argument.

I can't see what difference it makes if the faceplate is metal or plastic myself. So I agree with you. Incidentally, I have noticed that the practice of earthing metal backboxes seems to be dying out, along with doubling over smaller conductors (especially CPCs).

I am known where I live as the cock of the village.

    Storage Heater with 4 wires

Does your mum not have a gas supply? My memories of storage heaters from when I was a kid are not good! I know they are better now, but I still hate them!

    Stepping on another electricians toes?

Or maybe there was no original spark and they did it themselves and then got stuck or thought they'd try and get some mug to sign it off. I have had that before, told them to shove it unless they start telling the truth.

100ma RCD TNS - Condition Report

It's funny but I often miss things when they are in the title and not the main body of text!

    Conductors in parallel......

    It is indeed.

    Conductors in parallel......

I know what you mean. I think I might use one 4mm^2 to serve the existing sockets in bedroom 1 as a 20A radial and use the other to serve my new sockets in bedroom 2 and on the landing on a second 20A radial.

    Conductors in parallel......

No, but I did post ages ago about a ring with 4mm legs. Similar situation here but different! What are your thoughts on this one??

    Conductors in parallel......

This house already has 6 socket circuits, one more wouldn't hurt!

    Conductors in parallel......

I do believe the circuit is fully compliant (pending the outcome of my tests tomorrow) as it is, and though not a 'standard circuit', it is a bit weird and in this case, pointless. Yes, it's a Wylex NSB type. Plenty of unused ways.

    Conductors in parallel......

I can easily convert it to a full ring by chopping a couple of sockets in nearby and taking the feeds into them then onto the existing and new sections of the ring. I could also create two radials at 20A, which may be a better option. Hmmm. The mind boggles.
