    Constant battle with dryliners....

I generally find if its the same company that does it using one of these to find my cables helps them get the message in future.

Free labour for your knowledge and expertise, 40 hours a week.

Dont undersell yourself, you will still have some uses even though your knowledge is limited. In time you will gain valuable experience and be alot if use to a company. Your offer would also probably be illegal with minimum wage laws now in place.

Live working is a last resort. You know that as well as most other members on here.

Blanks missing from CU in 2 senarios

Any live working requires Risk assesment and method statements. Not just restricted access. As I said you shouldnt be working live not cant work live.

Why does the skilled person matter? You have potential exposed live parts.

    Bluetooth ceiling speakers

Could you not convince the client to have a wired speaker instead so that they can use either their own hi-fi (do people still own these?), or other audio device to connect to it?

    City and guilds are useless!

Thats awful, maybe its a blessing in disguise if they cant see you have passed it but just waiting for a certificate which tells them exactly the same thing.

    City and guilds are useless!

Well as I said, will they not accept that as provisional confirmation?

    City and guilds are useless!

I take it you have had your confirmation of your pass? Surely that will suffice as provisional proof until you get your certificate?

High Zs on submains and high Ze

True, but it should always designed for the worse case scenario as the DNO will probably just say well its within our acceptable limits.

High Zs on submains and high Ze

The OP worded the question as though the works had been carried out, its now a lot clearer what has happened. Given that they say the max Ze of a TN-C-S can be 0.35 it has been badly designed from the start.

High Zs on submains and high Ze

Changing the design of the circuit is a bad idea. You need to do some cable calculations and find out what size earth cable it needs.

High Zs on submains and high Ze

What do you mean you have done everything to lower the values? Either installing a larger earth cable to the submain or swapping the OCPD will ensure it complies.
