How much to change a consumer unit

I was just curious to see what other people charged for a typical board change, I know there's other factors to take into account etc. I start at £400 including EIC cert and Part P registration then dependant on earth size to gas and water that could be additional cost.

How much to change a consumer unit

Evening guys, I was just wondering how much everyone charges for a board change? Just in general, upstairs ring, downstairs ring, upstairs lights, downstairs lights, boiler supply and shower supply, replace the tails to 25mm and Main Earth to 16mm.

Replace the cable to the shower pull cord, if there is one? He didn't come direct from the DB did he? Is it protected by an RCD?

Anybody accept card payments from customers?

Most people have smart phones with mobile banking, it only takes 5 mins to make a payment and there's no charges.

Anybody accept card payments from customers?

Ask them to have the cash ready for you once the job is complete. A good example of this was from a book I was reading about Pimlico Plumbers, they used to invoice for works and would have thousands of pounds outstanding, then you've got the hassle to chase it up etc. They changed there payment...

EICR's and previous editions of Regs

It's Inspection and Test not Test and Inspect! Just saying.

    new builds and regulations

I think that shouldn't be allowed, if the install hasn't been started then when it is it should be installed to the current regs, in my opinion.

    new builds and regulations

If you have the EIC it should say in the departures section? And it should state when the install was designed as it will of been signed off on the cert?

    new builds and regulations

This Amendment came into effect on January 1st 2016, so all domestic consumer units from this date had to be metal clad to comply with the new Amendment, if your House installation was certified in December 16 then you should of had a metal clad DB to comply with the current regs.

    rcd protection- barber shop

This is where the regs need to be more difinative, everyone has different opinions of what coding to give and should a board be upgraded, personally myself I recommend upgrading to a split load or RCBO board due to the fact that most cables are less than 50mm depth and there's more and more...

    rcd protection- barber shop

I'd bring it up to current regs and put a split load board in, the equipment being used is all handheld used day in day out by an unskilled person and members of the public will be in the premises. What's the point in having regs if no one is willing to bring old installs up to current...

    My apprentice tool backack

It's such a nice change to see an apprentice eager, asking questions and having a good decent start up kit. If you keep the same attitude on your Electrical Apprenticeship journey you will go far, never be afraid to ask questions and take notes if your seeing something 2 way light switches etc...

    CPN cudis lumo consumer unit

They are horrendous, whether I've just spoilt myself by only using Schneider or MK and expect all other manufacturers to be of the same standard, but them boards I would never install ever again, I'd rather walk away from the job. The NIC must be getting a nice payment to endorse them which is...
