My cable calcs told me that the only limiting factor would be the VD (5.19%) at 50m using installation method 72 - D2 but as its only 45m it would come under the 5% for a power circuit.
Thanks for your reply, its much appreciated.
i understand the groans and i have spent a lot of time reading the other threads and various other documents trying to find the best option, also spoke to other electricians and everyone seems to have a different view.
I agree with you on option 2...
Thanks for all your replys and input ? its looking like its 45m which seems like it should be ok using 6mm with a 4.5% VD
Now i have unearthed another query with it being a PME system.
I have seen lots of conflicting information regarding how this should be tackled and I believe there are 3...
Yeah its not just the cost aspect, i already have a drum of 6mm and it would make the job easier as its running through the loft first (clipped up off the insulation).
50m is probably slightly over estimated, but i don't want to pull it in and have problems due to volt drop.
My calcs say under...
Can i get away with 6mm SWA on a 50m run for a 32a supply to a hot tub? Cable will be burried.
I believe its very close to being over the 5% max Permitted?
Whats your thoughts, should i go up to 10mm?
Thanks
Your right i dont know why i didnt look at it like that, but then to me that looks a less obvious cable route for someone looking at it in the future than a diagonal route ?♂️
To be honest in the right setting it is nice stuff, making off sockets 2 inch from the floor with 4mm pyro or 8 cables in a switch. Not so nice. I could maybe get some micc and pots from work tho ?

I haven't used this cable before, how is it made off and does it require a gland? Thanks
Thanks mate, thats what I thought ??

I agree it would take some messing about to bend it at each box, the cable you quoted looks much easier but not cheap and only sold in 100m drums. I will see if i can source is in smaller quantities.
Thanks ??

This is what i was...
Thanks, i am rewiring the house so this wall is being plastered so i may as well bury it, ive got some 20mm conduit on the van so not a big deal to put that in ??
Thanks mate,
I did think that would be the case but with the stairs being a horizontal surface i was hoping there may have been be away around it.
I will stick some conduit in, would galv flexible conduit cover mechanical protection?

Or go down the 12v route ?
I want to add lights up my stairs like this, never come across this before would wiring point to point be classed in a zone with it running on the stairs or will i need to bury it in conduit?
Thanks
Sorry I forgot to say this is sub contract to a company I.e they have won the full build and are subcontracting a proportion to us but labour only, i have worked on this basis many times before but usually given a price per flat but this time they want us to price for flats, communal areas, sub...
Yes someone else is supplying materials we are to quote for labour only, I couldn't say for sure if the materials will be there when needed so was thinking of agreeing some day Rate if we are waiting on them.
Hi,
I've been given some flats to price for labour only and have quite a lot of experience in working on flats on price but never actually had to price them my self.
Have you guys got any tips on pricing it? Don't want to come under and screw my self up. Do you work out your time etc then add...
