Supply is correct polarity. Will check results when go around tomorrow. However all readings ie. Insulation Resistance were above 200M. Think I am going to have to do a full test tomorrow. Annoying part was due to cost of build and other things decided to use a board I already had rather than...
Sorry this is a long one!
I have been carrying out testing and Inspecting for about 10 years now, but haven't come across what I found at my Mum and Dads house. I rewired it about 12 months ago. It is an old stone house and was a nightmare to do.(It's a TT system fed off overheads and a split...
Hi hope somebody can help.
I have currently just 1st fixed a very big house with over 200 led spots in it. Some rooms even have 4 gang switches 2 wayed. Also nearly every room has dimmable switches. Now on the original drawings the wiring shows conventional dimming. ie dimmer one end rocker the...
Why wouldn't you tt it. Everything is covered by 30mA rcd protection. That is the reason I was just going to remove the earth to neutral link and leave it as a tt only.
Hi all. I have come to a house today where one Earthing conductor is connected straight into the neutral Henley block and also another Earthing conductor is connected to a rod outside. There is no pme sticker and also I have been outside and can't see a neutral tapped down to earth at any of the...
Had quite a few problems lately with rcd's on dual boards tripping and on 2 occasions I haven't been able to find the problem (trips once every couple of days) . I have meggered circuits, ramp tested rcd, used megger mA meter for earth leakage etc. On both occasions there was an earth leakage of...
Does this mean that stats and elements shouldn't have a reset button and if so what happens with the scenario with the rayburn. I will be changing the stat every week. Thanks.
Can anybody help.
I have been to various call outs for faulty immersion heaters. Now I know how to test stat, element etc. and how to sort the problem, but what I could do with somebody explaining is why some heaters have a built in reset button and some don't, why some stats have a built in...
Washing machine, freezer, electric fence fed from shed, kettle, boiler. Even ran up heating but earth leakage still didn't go above 10.5mA. Did mention fitting rcbo's but if its an appliance breaking down this wouldn't help( just cause more expense).
Can anybody help... Went to a job Friday where apparently RCD is coming out once every couple of nights. The rcd covers 4 circuits which are sockets, sockets, heating and outdoor shed. I have carried out a blanket test and I am getting a reading of about 20M This is with loads conncted apart...
The company I work for sent out some guys to connect up some temps through a 3 phase meter. Now the circuit was fed via an existing board with a 63A breaker and the existing board was backed up by a 160 amp mccb.(plus an rcd for the sub-main). The 3 phase meter so I have been told went up in...
