    Certifying existing works

That's what I would advise, then maybe the client won't cheapskate next time...Assuming that's what they did. Have come across tons of work completed by builders and not signed off...Kitchens mostly. 9/10 you open up one socket find that there's no grommets or sleeving on the CPC and straight...

    Deleted certificate

Why does anyone use the NICEIC software anyway? Surely you would produce enough certificates that easy cert or the like is better value for money? Doesn't the NICEIC charge £1.50 per cert or something?

    Change of premises

You don't have to cover the cost of travel to and from work really. We work on JIB rules which I believe is only paying some allowance after 10 or 15 miles straight line distance from the office address. Straight line distance being a pretty long way really.

    LED Panels, surface mount

It's just all low quality Chinese ----. We've worked along the lines of if we find a great product with great UK support then we will only fit that product. Plus if you can deal with the manufacturer directly then even better - Dehn for example.

<quote>Have you allowed for emergency lighting</quote> Indeed I have been You'll need to check photometric data for those packs. Required for the certificate. Fyi, lots of TLC emergency products don't have photometric data so you won't be able to us those. I tried to get some from...

NAPIT Certification Scheme Napit course on emergency lighting and fire alarm systems

Your right, but doing courses will help ensure there isn't anything that you miss. I recently did emergency lighting with NICEIC training. Found out that emergency lighting is actually a legal requirement in commercial and communal areas over two stories (written in RRO before anyone qurstions...

NAPIT Certification Scheme NAPIT OR NIC

Even Householders recognise NICEIC. Some ask for it, not too many, but it does happen. I registered with Napit some 10 years ago but changed to NICEIC a year later as no one recognised it. Probably a little different now. I still tell potential customers to get other quotes from another NICEIC...

    Ledhut 5 year warranty

Had a number of faulty items from ledhut over the last 3 years. They have always replaced without quibble but it can be a little difficult to get them to process the replacement at times..At least by email anyway.

Why are smoke detectors so ugly?

Apollo have been working on a flush mounted detector for some time but who knows when it will be here and what the cost will be...It's for a part 1 system anyway.

Although technically this applies Your rights as an agency worker - GOV.UK - https://www.gov.uk/agency-workers-your-rights/your-rights-as-a-temporary-agency-worker Speak to any Subby and and I'll think you'll find no one gets this and is told to form a limited company as a work around

    Subbying

Randstad is just an agency fyi. What LED failure rate is acceptable?

If the integrated lights are halers then TLC have had massive amounts of returns on them. In some cases 100%. The LED lamps they sell are made by ledlite and some batches have been pretty poor, whilst overs are very good. Pot luck really

    Garden Lighting

Stick extra low voltage lighting in, putting the drivers where the feeds start. Will solve your tripping issue and you can bury the elv stuff at any depth you like. We do tons of gardens like this, although we still insist on the cabling being surface as something will inevitably go wrong. I...
