Hi all,
I was wondering if someone could tell me if there is any way of testing 110v installations with a normal megger loop/insulation tester? Or if you have to use a tester designed only for 110v Installs.
Thanks in advance
There are a few workshops where I'm based which have permanently hard wired 110v sockets fed off a fixed transformer. Its puzzling me how to obtain a loop impedance result on a centre tapped 110v system?
Any ideas?
I use a normal megger mft 1502.

I've been asked a lot recently about testing 110V appliances, and the best PAT Testers to use. Most people seem to be using a battery powered tester (such as a Seaward PT100 or similar) with a home made adaptor - not ideal.
I've just written an article covering the main points and I post the...

hi ladies and gents. Im currently in the process of fitting out a workshop for the firm i work for. I have a 3.5KVA 415/110v transformer, which feeds a 110v DB (converted 1ph DB).
The question i have is regarding cable sizing, and grouping in particular.

How do you test a 110v extension lead.We are testing in a very similar way to an iec lead but obviously with 110 v adaptors connected. the result always comes back as a multiple fault on the polarity test.
