I work on a site that has a transformer which supplies 10 commando sockets at 100v.
Recently, I have been unable to run 110v equipment, such as drills on these sockets.
I have checked the transformer which is 110v from Live to Neutral and 58v Live to Earth; which is correct. I am also getting...

Hi guys, not really done any 110v work and not something we ever covered in detail in college.
A workshop with fixed 110v outlets was having trouble with a 110v appliance,
Upon voltage testing the outlet I got the following readings:
L-N - 57v
L-E - 0v
N-E - 57v
Are these readings what I...
I got sent to a job today to move a 110v to above a newly buitl workbench which has is going to have 2 mitre saws

Was called to look at a 3phase 400/110v 10KVA transformer on a building site. The workers had been complaining their power tools ran slow.
Found 230v on all 3 phases and 400v between all phases.
Transformer output was 55v between phases. Healthy transformer on floor above, (which was on same...
This has probably been asked on here before but at the risk of being boring I shall ask again. Why do some 110v transformers trip rcd's when there is no sign of any fault in the supply flex or plug top?
Hi all, I'm currently doing my design course project, and have to design the wiring and installation of25 110V socket outlets.
Basically I've seen on another thread on here that you can't buy them with transformers built in (?) so I guess my method would be to have one/two main transformers...
Looking to make some tool purchases this year...though not decided whether to go for standard 230V or go 110V and transformer.
Leaning towards 230 due to not having to lug a transformer around, however then theres the argument "certain people" put forward that 230 looks "diyer"....
I don't do...

After the the 4th Edition amendments, am I correct in thinking building site 110v kit are still PAT tested every 3 months and we therefore need to write a retest date on the sticker?
Can I also assume 240v site huts are 24 months, but the ‘duty holder’ decides on the safe retest date, so no...
Hi,
A brief introduction. I live in Havana, Cuba and bathroom fans aren't easily available, like many things so I will buy them in Europe but they are 220v. I have 220v in my house in Havana for the a/c but the bathroom lighting is 110v.
1. Can I put a 110v relay in the lighting circuit that...

Hi all, Ive been asked to supply a 110V distribution board containing 1 x 40A and 2 x 32A DP circuit breakers. The company ordering the work has provided a new 12KVA CTE transformer.

Hi Guys,
Working in shops and offices.
Company is insisting using 110v tools and where possible, battery equipment.
I would have thought that 230v + 30mA RCd would be more than safe.
Believe that the 17th edition relaxed the rules on 110v tools (55-0-55)
Your thoughts gents please.
a few years back i installed the electrics on a site in weymouth including the site supply ( large 110 temp transformer)
