After the the 4th Edition amendments, am I correct in thinking building site 110v kit are still PAT tested every 3 months and we therefore need to write a retest date on the sticker?
Can I also assume 240v site huts are 24 months, but the ‘duty holder’ decides on the safe retest date, so no...

Hi all,
I found a YODALARM YO8 from Clifford & Snell in my shed. But it's a little bit broken because it fell into a chimney (long story). The components are fine but some of them and a couple of wires are disconnected from the circuitboard.
Now I am at sea, and don't know how to connect them...
Just inspected an RCBO fed radial feeding an IP65 rotary isolator that then feeds an integral bath & hoist system in a nursing home. The bath has integrated controls so the isolator is not going to be used as a switch. Stupidly they have managed to locate this well within zone 1, it is easily...
Can someone talk me over this one?

Hi
we have just installed a new gas system in our warehouse and it has a safety shut off valve/solenoid on it.
Basically the solenoid is 240v and I need the fire alarm to shut it off when activated, does anyone know of piece of kit that switches by 24v and operates 240v.
Many Thanks
Hi everyone,
I’m sure this may have been done already, but there is a debate I have with colleagues about the best type of downlighter to install, and in turn the best type of lamp to use in the fitting, and I’d like to put the debate to bed once and for all.
The way I see it is as...

Hi
After a little advice please. I have an aquarium hood, which has (what i think is called) an inverter. Says 240v 50hz. This powers a small circuit board, which powered 2 240v electronic ballasts, which were dead. I fitted a twin ballast instead.
Also runs some 12v LEDs, and 2 12v Fans.
Its...
