    Struck me recently as to why we use 6mm T&E for a 32A cooker circuit, when generally 4mm (clipped direct) would be sufficient. Is this a historical thing with BS3036 fuses?

    Just thinking about a kitchen circuit, How close would i be pushing a 32a rfc with washing machine, dishwasher, and two double sockets (likely to use kettle and toaster at the same time ) would 2x A3 circuits be more sensible?

    32A mcb changed to 40A mcb what certs?

    Hi I was wondering what certificate is required for changing just one 32A mcb to 40A mcb. It for 8.5 kw shower replacement, 15 meter of wiring is existing 10mm2 clipped to wall and there is a 45A shower isolator in meter cupboard.

    No RCD protection for socket outlets rated 32A or greater

    Hi Guys, Can somebody shed any light on why socket outlets rated at 32Amps or greater do not require RCD protection under BS7671? Presumably theres some maths behind it? And presumably the only exception is in a TT earthing System? Cheers chaps

    32A ring circuits wired in 1.5mm firetuf

    I've been asked to inspect a shop and have found 4x 32 amp ring final circuits supplying socket outlets, all wired in firetuf 1.5mm twin and earth. Actually all the circuits are wired in this stuff, there must have been a deal on at the wholesalers.. My concern is does this comply with 421.1.103...

    Hi Can i spur from a 32A ring final at the mcb with 2.5mm t&e? Is this within the regs? I think it is but just want clarification pg 159 osg says you can connect at the distribution board. Thanks
