Hi all, I did some work on a house the other day that had a circuit for sockets which was cabled in 4mm to half way in the house the split of it to 2.5 up to the sockets. It had a 32a breaker. I'm aware that you can have a 32a 4mm radial but that the whole circuit must be in 4mm. Using 2.5 on...

Morning all, As we know, you can run a spur on a ring final cct from the top of the 32a breaker. But can you run a single socket radial cct from a 32a breaker? essentially making it a spur but without the ring being present. Thanks

    Outdoor 32A 3ph sockets

Hi guys hope you can help! This might be a stupid question but in your opinions do 32A 3ph IP67 sockets to feed some outdoor jet wash units at a car wash require RCD protection? Doing a quote for a bloke who's shall we say a bit "careful" with his money. The integrated ones are about £300...

    32A Commando Socket.

Got a machine at a job rated at 32A Max, I believe that it will be fine on a 32amp commando interlocked socket but i have been requested to fit a 63amp? Does anyone else think it should be overrated to 63amp, considering its backed at the board by a 32Amp opd.

    4mm radial on a 32A?

Bit bored, boys in bed, beers in tummy and I thought I'd ask everyone why a 4mm radial is allowed to have a 32A MCB protecting it when its current carrying capacity is only above 32A when it is clipped direct or in free air? I'm thinking diversity, but what if its your only circuit for...

    6mm T&E on a 32A Cooker circuit

Struck me recently as to why we use 6mm T&E for a 32A cooker circuit, when generally 4mm (clipped direct) would be sufficient. Is this a historical thing with BS3036 fuses?

Working on an installation today. Noticed a circuit which is not connected to my work (different circuit). 1.5mm T&E (Ref method A) for upstairs lights fed off (I presume a hidden JB as nothing is visible) a FRC and protected by a 32A MCB. It's not been fused down, at least no FCU visible. No...
