Hi guys,
One of my guys drilled through a ring main cable today on the 1st floor of a company, knocking out the MCB, RCD feeding the MCB and the BS88-2 fuse in the basement.
Why did it blow the BS88 fuse?
Cheers

Hi all, just wondered if anyone has had a similar issue with their 1552 or 1553 Megger mft ?

Guys,
Just finishing off a lean to extension to the rear of my house, I have a sparky coming out at the weekend to give us a quote for a couple of sockets and some downlight wiring, my question is I have an old style fuse box, is there a legal requirement to get this replaced for RCD consumer...
Morning all,
I have a query about adding an additional 13A wall socket in a bedroom. Can it be wired horizontally five feet along the wall according to the safe zone rules? Baring in mind on the opposite side of the wall is the bathtub in the bathroom?

I'm after a 6amp and 32amp rcbo that will fit in a Square D Quikline consumer unit. Does anyone know what replacement breakers fit these boards. I know Schneider took over square d but the acti9 range is Merlin Gerin rebranded.
I use my Bosch Professional Cordless Drill a lot, it's the 18v one and I love it. I used it today on some Pozi drive screws in a fence post that must have been put in by Guy the Gorilla a few years back and were about 4 inches long and it totally mashed some bits trying to get them out, I got...

Just got back from completing my AM2. I have definitely failed the install due to running out of time, i have never been a fast worker compared to others though i do produce a good standard of work. My job is in maintenance so my installs are limited. My assessor went through my work and said...

Got a few jobs coming up (mostly bathrooms) requiring LED downlights.
What are your preferences?
Ive mainly used GU10 cans with retrofit lamps mostly due to cost in the past but dedicated fittings seem to be getting more reasonable now.
I've used LEDhut lamps which were fine, Kosnic in my...
Just had a new 4kw solar pv system fitted, with two arrays of 7 panels, one above the other in the same direction.
I flicked through the statistics and noticed that the first array was only producing 1w, when the 2nd array was producing around 900w. So I checked voltage and found that was on...
Evening all..
I will be buying one of the above but am struggling to choose between them both.
I am 70% for the T150 and 30% for the T5.
Lots of people seem to rate the T5.
What I particularly like about the T150 is that the buttons are on the probe so you only need 2 hands for all actions...
