Hi all ,
We have moved in to a flat in which we have lived for 6 years now.
We have had a representative coming in to read the meter. We have had some issues with the bills where charges were in range of 300 pounds a month.
Service provider said that they will monitor situation.
Last months...
Does anyone know what the British Telecom Ring Back Code is NOW. It used to be 17070 but that no longer works. You dial the ring back code and then hang up and the exchange rings you back. It used to also tell you what the number of the line is.
I am doing a job at a relative’s house in...
Hello, I have a Landys Gyr E110 electricity meter, it is currently displaying a mesage A 04.07 intermitently and also seems to be recording too high a usage, when I turn everything off in the house it is still recording usage. Anyone know what this mesage means or any other thoughts? Thanks for...
Dear all
Testing Zs on fluke 1663 returned an error code 4
I thought this was an earth fault but another spark said it’s a voltage on the line.
Anyone have the correct answer
?
Cheers
Currently doing an EICR, query concerns a distribution circuit to a pool plant room around 200m from the intake. Supply is TNS and a TPN SWA is fed from a 63a type D underground to the pool plant. At the plant room the SWA is terminated into plastic trunking with a separated TT system taking...
What code would you attach to this gem, I gave it C2. These terminals are contained within steel trunking but are also part of a live 3 phase cct. See picture. It is installed as a 100 Amp 3 phase ring with these terminals every few metres. Distribution boards are connected from these terminals...
I’m looking to add a GFCI breaker to my main panel. I have several open slots and have not reached the circuit capacity of my panel. However, the main breaker is not located at the top of the panel. See picture. Is there any reason (code or otherwise) I can’t locate a circuit breaker above the...
Just finished an EICR on an ex assisted housing flat, in a block of 4, since converted into normal flats.
Generally the condition isn't horrendous, a couple of damaged accessories(C1) but two odd ones.
1, The CU is in the meter cupboard, outside. Now it wasn't in too nad shape to be honest but...
Falcon (Rangemaster) continental induction range 10 yrs old. Tried swapping out control indicator unit pcb (shows the knob settings) with identical pcb to try to correct a control fault. Get er31 code which I think is a configuration issue. Only got knobs, no buttons. How to configure? No jumper...
hi guys i spoke to nappit recently after reading their codebreakers book,it said code 2 for all cables which are buried in the wall less than 50mm deep not rcd protected.i then said when doing a eicr i have always coded lighting circuits not rcd protected as code 3, he then said you would have...
Hi,
I have been asked by a landlord to reset an alarm system as the occupant has moved out and does not know the code.
Ive never had to do this before so any help appreciated?
Unsure what the alarm brand is yet wont know until I visit
Hi Guys,
About to start an EICR on a property but I already know the CU is about 50mm away from the gas meter, massive garage wall and they put them that close!!
I know part-p talks about them needing to be 150mm away but can't find mention of it in the regs. No mention of this in code breakers...
I've just completed an EICR and found a switch for towel rail in bathroom. It is located outside zones.
There is no RCD on this circuit, this is coded elsewhere.
My first thought was as located within 3M, Reg 701.512.3 code C2
But upon reading reg properly it specifically refers to sockets. I...
Just done an EICR on a domestic, the sub main running from origin to cu is 25mm split con. Hard to know if its more than 50mm deep in walls etc without intrusive investigation. So could run with FI, but obv that doesn't deliver a satisfactory report.
Bit of a tricky one as it would have complied...
What is the right code for:
a) central heating pipes running directly below a socket (left to right). Could heat from the pipes slightly warm the socket and possibly warm a flex cord of a plugged in appliance if it touches the pipe?
Would lagging the pipes solve this?
b) electric cable...
Hi all,
I've got a couple of examples of this;
on a domestic EICR.
I'm on the fence with the coding - C1 or C2. There is no copper showing on the live parts - but I wouldn't like to grab it.
I just want to be consistent with this - I mean if it was just bare conductors twisted together...
I have just completed an EICR.
All the earths have been chopped off in the ceiling roses and switches on the lighting circuit. There are no class 2 fittings.
Usually if there are no earths on the lights and no class 2 fittings then it will be a C3. However, the lighting circuit does have CPC's...
