Hi all just joined this forum after having a little read about :smiley2:
My question is simply we are looking to extend our existing sockets to a more suitable height 450mm off the finished floor, also a few pendants centralised in the bedrooms as a rewire had taken place 5 years ago and all...

So I was reading professional electrician the other evening, and in there was an advert for twist on connectors.
Much like the ones from the 60s/70s? and what you find in all of north America.
Has anyone started using these again? If so are they any good?
My theory been, if the Americans like...
Hi lads,
I like the look and idea of these Wago connectors, never used them before but starting to think I need to get into the 21st century.
Anyway heres a few questions.
I do mainly private housing and commercial work so I do quite a bit of lighting(recessed) etc. so
1 - There are so many...
Just reading the latest edition of PE and they have an article on Twist on Wire Connectors.
They're from Ideal Industries and looks like they going for a big relaunch.
Thought they were shoddy!
Best prices and places to purchase Wago connectors, all sizes. As I’ve noticed people always highlight, them when talking connections, i need some, they look like a nice an easy to use and fast connection block, looks like they can save on a lot of time, i just need to find out what is a good...
Hi guys, i have just installed my first pv system for a company that has just been set up (used for mcs accreditation all passed fine) The problem is the system is only generating 800watts an hour on a very nice sunny day. Its a 3.8 ish system with fronius ilgt3.6 inverter. The panels are 17...
hi guys
just had my first delivery of wago boxes and pushfit/lever connections. quick question can you use these connectors within a light fitting seperate from the the actual wago enclosure? i cant see why not as the light fiting will be acting as the outer enclosure. mainly want to use for...
Hi
I am looking at equipment at the moment. The metrel MI3125B looks like a great bit of kit, apart from one issue. The leads are connected via a non standard plug.
Test meter sell a set of leads that have mc4 connectors on them for about £20, but these have standard 4mm plugs, so will fit...
If you have a lighting transformer with primary and secondary leads for MR16 downlights, can you use WAGO push connectors to link the primary side to the mains lighting circuit? What are the recommendations for connecting lighting transformers to the mains if the are supplied with pre-terminated...
Hopefully im not the only one but has anyone got a good way of putting on MC3 connectors? trying to put in the rubber encasement has given me blisters on my thumbs by trying to twist them on. tried using a bit of fairy liquid on it but it just dries up with the heat of the outer sheath and...
Just playing around with a starter kit and the panels have MC3 connectors I have a load of MC4 connectors and crimper. Is it OK to cut off the MC3 connectors on the panels and change to MC4?
I know i can get convertors but thats more cost!
Can you buy sunclix connectors on their own? I can only find them with the inverters and we've got an install with MC4 connectors tomorrow - we usually only need MC3 and use the crimpers for those - don't really want to pay £silly for MC4 crimpers that I'm not likely to use very often.
Hi Guys,

10 x 63A 5 Pin (Socket)
10 x 63A 5 Pin (Plug)
They have shot up in price recently and I'm looking for a new supplier. Can anyone help / recommend anyone?
when using branch connectors in an array, for example 2 strings of 8 and the positives go to one branch and the negatives to the other one, there are only two cables going back to the inverter, does this mean that the same laws apply if branch connectors weren't used: amps double and volts dont?
Given job to lower sockets in kitchen to allow for new wall units. The cables won't reach the lower postion and lifting up the floor boards above to pull back and jb isn't included in the price. If I were to put the jb behind the wallcuboard would that classed as accessable?
Really cant see any...
Sorry - DIYer alert
I have some downlighters fitted by a previous owner (who I call Mr Bodge-it) at least 10 yrs ago. They are mains voltage and linked together.
I need to move at least 2 of them - they are both installed tight to joists and I want to draughtproof them (they are into the attic...
Have been given a large amount of LV's to fit into a apartment. And have been looking at trying the "click " connector to ease removal of lamps etc for future decoration etc .
I have bought one just to take a look etc .
Just wondering if I could use this for the LV side only . This means...
