Seperate / Integral earth CPC on 400A supply

This one might get the old grey matter going! 400A supply 260m run on ladder fed from BS88 fuses to sub main distribution board. Did a cable calc using our Trimble software (was Amtech) and looked at the option of using an integral earth or a separate earth so I could use a conventional 4c...

Looking through our periodic certificate that was completed by a 3rd party, I've got a few queries that hopefully someone on here can clarify. We've got a Schneider Prisma switchboard (S3/MSP 3.1) fed from 11kV/400V Transformer. - What is meant by MW for cpc size of 2/TP and 13/TP? - Is there...

    Testing

Does it matter which method (method 1 or method 2) you use when testing for continuity of the circuit protective conductors? Or is each method dependent upon which the type of circuit you are testing on ring or radial? I have been told that test method 1 is used for lighting and radial...

    Continuity Tests

Is the continuity test for circuit protective conductors, the same test for ring and radial circuits or is there a different test for each type of circuit? Also what is the difference between testing for cpc continuity and testing for continuity for ring final circuit conductors?

Missing cpc in domestic lighting circuit

Morning. A friend and I have been carrying out some EICRs on properties in our area. Recently, my mate has come across two houses in which the lighting circuits do not have any earthing at all. They have been run in twin and earth but the earths have all been snipped off at lighting points...

    Shock overcurrent ignored in recommendations?

It is my reading that doing impedance tests we like a nice low resistance in theory overall and especially for earth , both Ze and R1 or both R1 and/or R2. This makes a high potential fault current Uo/Ze, way above the allowed fuse sizes for a light circuit or many power too. So do wires really...

Sharing Cpc - Two Lighting Circuits

Hi Chaps, Carried out a condition report today and found two lighting circuits using the same CPC, 4mm single. Seems the lighting never had a CPC and someone has added the 4mm at a later date. From what i understand the 4mm is ok but is it ok for two circuits to share the same CPC? Thanks in...
