Evening all..
I have just been core drilling a 105mm hole for an extractor fan in a bathroom wall. I had a good look around on my pre works visit and realised it was a wide wall (600mm) but my core drill can handle that. Got through 600mm+ and then the customer tell me that there is another...
Local business has 3x large extract fans that simply turn on and off with individual switches.
Can any brand of this type of fan be retrofitted with say, a ventaxia fan controller with speed and reverse?
Existing fans are Ziehl-Abegg. Photos showing existing wiring, and diagram on cover lid...
We carried out an EICR in a large 5 bedroom house for a house purchaser
The EICR found various issues with the house from a safety standpoint however now they have moved into the property the owner has said some rooms dont have enough light fittings and sockets, an extractor fan is not working...
My condenser fan has a problem on my GE Fridge, it spins but is squeeling and stopping and there appears to be some misalignment on the motor spindle.
I've pulled it out and am pretty confident I could fix it with new bearings or whatever, the trouble is there is a plastic hub on the spindle...
Hi there.
Recently our bathroom extractor fan broke, so I got a new one but I'm having difficulty wiring it (homeowner DIY guy here).
So... there are 3 wires coming from bathroom wall:
brown (Live)
blue (Neutral)
yellow/green (Ground).
Previously, old extractor fan used all 3 of those wires...
Hi,
I wish to solder in a room that hs no windows going externally...their are windows but only to internal.
But it also has a ~12cm diam metal pipe sticking out of the roof by some 15cm.....so if somehow i can strap a tube to this, and put a fan in the tube so that i can extract solder smoke...
So I am trying to install a ceiling fan with lights, there is a switch location closed with an empty plate and ceiling fan point installed.
When I open switch location, can see there are total 5 wires, 2 black, 1 red and 1 ground - white ones are already connected to each other.

Hi there,
I'm trying to wire an extractor fan (Manrose 4" / 100mmm with timer)
I don't have too much knowledge about Electricity but I'm very keen to install it myself and learn too.
I don't wish to connect the fan through a light switch rather directly to the wall
Now the fan has 3 connectors...
Hi, how to connect the exhaust fan switch to the light switch? I have opened the exhaust fan before, there are:

I posted yesterday and then thought I had it figured so I edited post and thankfully, a moderator then deleted it. I apologize for making work for the moderators but now I have everything in order and I do have a question about running the ground from an attic fan.
The attic fan (Powercool Plus...
I've got a CDA ECP62SS/2 extractor fan, can anybody tell me how to remove the lights so I can change the bulb. Also what type of bulb is used in this model.
Thank you
Hi all,
I read through the post that dealt with using 12V LED bulbs in place of incandescent bulbs but my issue is a little different from that thread.
I will be checking out a ceiling fan that has 4 lights on it. The owner said he replaced all 4 incandescent 120VAC bulbs that were working with...
New construction in USA. I think that the builder put ceiling fan rated boxes in the ceiling. But when I remove the cover, I see a strange box. Picture attached. It's hard to make out all of the details, because the painter sprayed it.
Have you seen this brand/style box before?
There are two...
The switched connection unit for the kitchen extractor fan and the lower part of fan is now behind a larger fridge, so the fan can't be operated without climbing onto a worktop.
I would like to replace the fan with a Manrose LP150STC, which has terminals for a switch on the live line, and bring...
I have an envirovent fan that I'm replacing that is connected to its own switch (ie not the light) . The current wiring has a live and neutral. The SIL100T model seems to have Live AND Live Switched and Neutral. As I only have the two wires can I just use a short piece of wire (from an old plug...
I'm not an electrician, but I do electrical tasks for my employer. Hello underfunded maintenance department.
I'm currently troubleshooting an exhaust ventilation fan system that's powered via a contactor, with vent louvers (the things that open/close to seal the vent or unseal it) that...
