Hi everyone, this is my first post so if I'm re-posting or in the wrong area I really sorry.
I need a bit of advice as I've been getting conflicting statements from the sparkies at work.
I'm fitting a new kitchen at home and while I'm capable of wiring, I can't test so that will be left to...
Hi All, As part of one of my jobs for NIC accreditation I'm fitting an induction hob (8kw) and double oven (>2kw combined) the customer has requested they have separate switches on the same plate but does not want the oven on a socket should they change specification at a later date, any advice...
Hi
My ceramic hob became cracked (only 18 months old since kitchen re-fitted) so purchased an induction hob to replace it.
I took out the old one and replaced it with the new hob
Since then the electric oven (at the other side of the kitchen) seems to want to trip the fuse board. I have...
Hi everyone
I'm installing a Samsung induction hob - all 4 hobs total 7.6kW
Am I to apply diversity to this to work out the fuse size? I can imagine the 4 hobs being used at full throttle quite regular and don't want to put it on a 32A fuse and it keep tripping if I put it on a 32A fuse -...
Hi chaps,
As some of you may recall, I posted a while back about a dodgy electrician who did some work at my parents place, including putting in a circuit for a new induction hob, as well as a board.
He cocked a load of things up so following a complaint to the NICEIC, the guy came back today...
Morning all.
I'm in search of ideas.
Been installing an induction hob on a 6mm radial backed up by a 32a mcb. Came to power up yesterday and with all hobs on its throwing out the 30mA main switch rcd. (It's a TT system). Iv tested all my cables and there all clear so it's taking it out on...
I have a customer who is having a Kitchen fitted and has all the appliances picked out and ordered. The hob is an induction type hob and it says in the Kitchen Costing that it is a 20a Load required. When investigating the actual spec of the hob it states clearly that it is a 4.6kw Hob. I just...
Will this get Nokia back in the game? Fallen giant's next Windows Phone will charge wirelessly | Mail Online
What about this new 'wireless' charging witchcraft.....can only assume its some form of induction, similar to induction hobs & sauspans??
Hi all,
Looking for a bit of advice please...
My Sparky is away for a while (unsure how long - family bereavement) but I need to get the kitchen walls plastered to keep things moving, so looking for confirmation of the best approach before the chases are filled, yet not doing anything...
I'm re-wiring a house which is being renovated and the customer has no idea yet what the rating of the oven & induction hob (both electric) will be but want cables run so they can board & plaster the ceiling (concrete floors) so I'm planning on running a 10mm radial to the wall the switch & CCU...
Hi, I have recently had the kitchen rewired and want to fit a 7.2kw induction hob. Wire in wall is 6mm t+e to the power outlet backed up by a 32a mcb. the hob will be installed in the worktop directly above a built under double oven. The instillation manual for the hob specifies cable type...
Hi everyone. I am a student of electrical engineering. I want to know the functioning of an induction motor. How it works and what are the advantages of it?
First of all....... HI
Been reading the forum now for months and have enjoyed.
I guess it’s time to pick your collective brains!
My customer has decided to go for beautiful free standing cooker which has induction hobs.
(10.8kw with just the hobs alone and for some reason they haven’t included...
I'm looking at an architects drawing that's asking for 2 x 45A's, one for an oven and one for an induction hob.
What do we reckon I should allow for the induction hob? It'll end up on it's own breaker anyway as it'll probably need a C or D type, but I'm just wondering what to allow for it as...
Hello, I am struggling to understand how electricity is generated in an AC generator... I know that there is a coil of wire and a magnet, and both of them have their own magnetic fields and as the magnet moves into the coil's magnetic field, it causes electrons to move in that coil. Well if that...
hi..

Hi all, wanted some opinions if possible.
I have a gymnasium that contains 15 400W HID highbay metal halide lights. The lights are a good 8 metres from the floor, accessed only by genie lift. The fittings are about 18 years old. Every few years a full lamp change is done, and i recently did...
Can anyone help?
I recently fitted some 200 watt highbay LVD induction light fittings, they look great they work well and basically do what it says on the tin.
The only problem is, I have been informed by the customer that when the lights are on they are causing an interference with the radio...
