Hi there
customer got intemittant tripping of rcd on new induction hob , got service engineer out under warranty
got told by a john lewis engineer that induction hobs need to only be wired on their own rcd/rcbo and not with other circuits like on a split load board
'All induction hobs need to...
Morning all,
Fitting an automatic swing gate with induction loop tomorrow (with my uncle). My uncle knows what he's doing but this would be a first for me, just doing a bit of research today so I at least know what I'm looking at tomorrow.
The device is by Roger although I couldn't tell you...
Hi,
I apologise if this is in the wrong section, but I did not see a specific forum for help.
My induction hob has packed in today, it simply won't turn on.
There is simply no power to it.
It is around 1 year old.
I have changed the fuse with one that I have taken from a working appliance, no...

Hi guys
Interested in your thoughts here. I recently installed a new circuit to supply an induction hob and oven. The circuit is supplied via a 40 amp rcbo. The rcbo however is intermittently tripping, sometimes when it's not even in use and stone cold I.e no fan etc running. I know the...
My customer's RCD trips on the CU, but only when the induction hob CB is on, and never when the induction hob itself is switched on and operational.
With the hob CB off the RCD never trips.
Is this coincidence and it's another circuit from the CU that is faulty, or is there a fault in the hob...
Could someone just check my maths and thinking please.
Induction Hob 7.2kw = 7200/230 = 31.3 A
Double Oven 6.6kw = 6600/230 = 28.7A
Total Load = 60A
Apply diversity
10A + 30% of remaining load
60 - 10 = 50 x 30% = 15A
Diversivified load = 10 + 15 = 25A
So a 6mm T&E on a 32A MCB will be ok...

There's this motor that has recently developed a problem. The motor draws alot of current when running, close to three times it's rated load. Any clue to fixing it?
Hi,
I was looking at the MK switches as we wanted
them to match with the sockets.
But they only have a 32A switch which
matches, the 50A switch is quite large.
Will the 32A switch be ok for this induction hob?

Hi all,
I've trawled through the numerous postings/threads on here and elsewhere and am content with loading and diversity:smilewinkgrin:
We've been looking at the various induction hob and oven options available and I was surprised to see that you can now buy 13A "plug-in" induction hobs in...
Hi all, was wondering if anyone could help me with this. I have had a three phase induction motor rated at 85.8amps full load and voltage is 480volts connected in delta. My question is that when I was first starting up the motor it kept on tripping the main switch due to the inrush currents. The...
A friend has just text me and asked if he can put an induction hob (beko hic64402 t) on a plug. I've just downloaded the user manual and it states to use cable type h05rrf 3g 2.5.
I've just googled that and it came up as Chinese manufacturers/sellers.
Never fitted or worked with hobs before so...

Just had a call from two of our men who are testing an agricultural dealership , they have found 100 + volts on one of the lighting cpc's .
To cut a long story short , they have cut around 2 and a half meters out of the 10 meter the circuit ( 1.5 T+E ) and have it laid on the floor . They say...
