    Striking a domestic power cable with a "kango" or hand tool

    Which is best? Obvioulsy neither, and we have measures to isolate supply and have conducted risk assesments etc... My question is, if you were to strike a 230v power supply with say a 110v "kango", and were holding the handle, would the tool / cables / transfromer give a route to earth this...

    hi there just a quick question when installing a wired doorbell system is there really any need for a bell transformer that is double insulated/class2 to be enclosed in its own seperate enclosure ? if there is no reason to protect from mechanical damage.

    A mates sent me some piccys of a light he's trying to fix. Its a normal looking transformed 12V light with a toroidal transformer (thats U/S) in it - the weird thing is one of the secondary windings goes off to the lamps, the other secondary attaches straight onto the body of the light fitting...

    Crimp Insulated Yellow 6mm

    Just double checking that these are the right crimps for the job, My new cooker needs to be connected by 6mm eyelet crimp connectors the ones I have found are Cable size: 4-6mm². Imax: 48A, am I correct in thinking that these are rated to 48amps and wound be fine on a 30amp double oven cooker?
