Hi guys,
Im just filling in my first ever solo EIC when I check the onsite guide and gn3 for max permitted zs (tabulated) for bs60898 type b 32A the table shows 1.16ohms but to me it didnt ring a bell, checking bs7671 table 41.3 shows max zs to be 1.44.
Can anyone shed some light on why and...

I was looking at purchasing the SEW T1825 PSC tester. Has anyone got any experiences with this tester or with SEW testers in general. In my country it's also marketed as a Toptronic T1825 but from what I can tell this is just a re-badged SEW tester.
I realise it's not a Fluke or a Megger but at...
Hi everyone
I hope all is well. I've joined to expand upon my knowledge and become a more competent and safer electrician! I hope I can find the answers I require through this site! My first post comes with some questions, I hope you experts don't mind helping an apprentice!

hello, i got this qustion and would like someone to show me the working out of it please.
the measured value of loop impedance for a circuit is 0.83 ohms. if the temperature at the time of the test was 20c and the cable is 70c (factor1.2), what is the correct value. ze = 0.4 ohms

Dear community...
I was replacing a light fitting in the kitchen so I had to open up the ceiling rose. There is a cable feeding power that comes in from another rose, the cable with the switch wires.....but there are two cables going from it.
One, I assume is going to another light...
Afternoon all,
I did a standard Ze test on a TT installation yesterday, and got a value of 215 ohms. The ground is really wet at the moment and so I'm assuming its about as good as the rod is going to get.
Would simply replacing the rod with a longer type improve the Ze result? and if not...

I give these out to some of our younger electricians in the aim to get them familiar with such values. Probably old news to most of you fellas but sure it won't do any harm. Calculations from BS7671 anyway, just handy to have a hard copy other than BGB.
Cheers
John
Bit of an odd one but was doing a EICR today and got some weird loop test results. All low current 2 wire loop tests were around 7-8ohms whilst doing three wire loops on the saner circuits gave more to be expected readings around 0.6-1.2ohms. Overhead supply with a DNO PME head. Any thoughts?
Evening all could anyone please tell me the the maximum ze for tt systems the jobs entail Rec cut out fuse bs88 16a to feed 1x 30 ma rcd fuse spur for feeding socket outlet what should the max ze be please

Hi guys
Testing today large country manor house/mansion today and had a issue with getting loop reading on no trip on my fluke 1653 mft. could only get a loop reading on high current. I can physically see that the earth is connected and I have a voltage present.
The installation briefly...
Do's the robin 1610 mft megger loop rcd fluke comply with GS38, BS7671 and part p?
I would like it for domestic installation, to do all the tests that are need to sign off a new installation according to regs.
Does this item comply with BS7671 and part P Robin 1610 Multifunctional Tester Megger Loop Rcd Fluke Electrical Tester?
I am thinking of buying a second hand one.

Hi Guys,
I've just swapped over to a Fluke 1654B MFT and I have a question about measuring the Re using the loop test function.
Anyway, on the full caffeine loop test there is a little button where you can toggle the lower display to swap between PEFC measurement and the Re element of the Ze...

If I am carrying out a Zs test on a final ring circuit in an installation, say as part of a periodic, is it okay just to turn the equipment off? Or should I disconnect them from the supply (turn the socket off)?
Also would the same principle apply when testing the RCD?
Thanks
Steve
