Evening all could anyone please tell me the the maximum ze for tt systems the jobs entail Rec cut out fuse bs88 16a to feed 1x 30 ma rcd fuse spur for feeding socket outlet what should the max ze be please
Hi guys
Testing today large country manor house/mansion today and had a issue with getting loop reading on no trip on my fluke 1653 mft. could only get a loop reading on high current. I can physically see that the earth is connected and I have a voltage present.
The installation briefly...
Do's the robin 1610 mft megger loop rcd fluke comply with GS38, BS7671 and part p?
I would like it for domestic installation, to do all the tests that are need to sign off a new installation according to regs.
Does this item comply with BS7671 and part P Robin 1610 Multifunctional Tester Megger Loop Rcd Fluke Electrical Tester?
I am thinking of buying a second hand one.
Hi Guys,
I've just swapped over to a Fluke 1654B MFT and I have a question about measuring the Re using the loop test function.
Anyway, on the full caffeine loop test there is a little button where you can toggle the lower display to swap between PEFC measurement and the Re element of the Ze...
If I am carrying out a Zs test on a final ring circuit in an installation, say as part of a periodic, is it okay just to turn the equipment off? Or should I disconnect them from the supply (turn the socket off)?
Also would the same principle apply when testing the RCD?
Thanks
Steve
I know on a 3 phase supply system ie; a DB, you measure PFC & PFCC taking the highest of the two reading and doubling it. This is then recorded. But what about say a 3 phase motor for example where you measure each Line and record it on the schedule of test results. Is the result recorded as is...
Anyone got any ideas?
Measured R1, Rn, R2 end to end and 0.34, 0.35 and 5.6 ohm.
Measured R1, R2 crossed and got between 0.21 and 0.23 ohm at the back of each socket on the ring.
Measured Rn, R2 crossed and got between 0.20 and o.23.
All results random and probably caused by pressure / probe...
Doing an EICR. the house has loads of down lights. To test propely do i need to remove each down light and access the earth in a connector block. Assuming there class 2 fittings.
Customers not that keen on me removing them from newly decorated ceilings.
Also the customer doesnt want me to...
Hi guys, i after some help with an Earth Loop question, first thing first this is not coming from a sparks prospective so the regulations are not relevant here to a point.
I work in the domestic appliance industry, i contract to one of the big manufactures, as part of our initial tests on the...
I have a standard KT71 pat tester and have been offered a job testing cash registers. The problem is I will be expected to also carry out an Earth Loop Impedance test and I do not possess the kit or the knowledge to do it. I am considering sub-contracting the Earth Loop Impedance testing part...
Hi there
I was testing the earth loop on a bathroom light with the fan pull switch turned OFF (not double pole) and got a reading of 330 ohms.
When I turned the fan on, the reading was down to 0.60 ohms which is obviously ok.
Would this be due to the neutral not being switched from the...
Hi I just purchased one of these and downloaded the Instaltest 61557 manual.
In the RCD menu (No 10 setting of the Function Switch),
The manual says set the function switch to Uc,RL "Contact Voltage" or "Fault Loop Resistance and the initial menu" will be displayed, Uc or Loop message starts...
What is the maximum earth loop impedance to BS7671:2008 for a circuit protected by a 20A BS88 (gG) fuse giving a 5 second disconnection time is:
A: 7.42
B: 2.91
C: 1.84
D: 1.35
The green book says the ln for this type of fuse is 78A p299, that doesnt give you the right answer though.
:confused5:
Heres one. Over on another forum a poster has said that when doing loop tests they always test at the furthest point - which is correct, however they then go on to say that if they were testing a water heater circuit they would test at the connection point on top of the heater rather than at the...
Should a fire alarm be wired in two separate loops one for call points and detectors and a separate for sounders?
I heard this today and wasnt sure it was right, does anyone have any detailed info on how loops should be wired, if there should be 2 loops or all devices on one loop being ok?
client had washing machine eng. called out....who tested the single switced socket??? (w/machine drum fault) and on his rport indicated a higher than acceptable earth loop impedance (254 ohms) as a result im sent to check installation...theres nothing wrong with the installation however a...
Hi all,
Just wondered if someone could tell me why my Robin Loop Tester with de-lock will only test through BS4293 Rcds? As soon as I use it on a 61008 or 61009 it will trip it?
I do normally use a megger with de-lock and its fine, but I like to use the robin for industrial/commercial tests.
Alreet all,
Went for an interview for a FM company recently and got asked a couple of, what I thought were, ambiguous questions.
Thought i'd find out what everyone else thinks.
1) What would you expect to find during PFC test?
&
2)What would you expect to find during Earth Loop Imp test...
