Hi there,
My mums living room measures 4m x 3m and she's decided on having 8 GU10 downlighters. The trouble is we're debating on where to put them, as I know downlights have a very narrow beam so we're trying to avoid shadows etc. I'm aware the suggestion of having downlighters are a bit of a...

Hi All
I'd like to convert the pull switch for the light in my downstairs toilet to an occupancy sensor but the room is very small (900mm x 900mm) and it has a boiler on the wall at high level.
Am I right in thinking a PIR-based sensor isn't going to work very well because it will see the...
Have I been missing something? I have just had a reply to squire which says I'm the best price etc... However the other electrician has quoted for 4 sockets per room to comply with part p... Maybe I've been doing all my rewires wrong...? Or is this other electrician just trying to pull a fast...
Is there such thing? The regulations assume a partition in the zoning. In this scenario the shower is a box room of about 1m by 2.5m with the shower in the far end and the loo and basin to the door. There was once a heater with the fused spur external in the hallway. Since then the shower now...

Hello,
I've been asked to run in a new circuit for a dishwasher in a school staff room.
I've planned a 20amp / 2.5 T&E radial feeding a 13amp fused connection unit and fixed equipment connection point.
The planned cable run includes running across the ceiling of the plant room (2/3...

Hello all.
I have been asked to look at supplying a server cabinet, with ups.
The ups needs two separate supplies, and will automatically switch between the two incase of a fault etc.
Does anyone know if these two supplies can be on different phases? I would rather keep them separate incase...

We have a shower room off our bedroom which was there when we bought the house. I think it was put in well as generally all the electrics and plumbing seem to be done well but that said the electrics were done 20+ years ago... We've certainly never had a problem with it!
The electrics...

I know there's topics on this already, but can't find what I am after.
I like the sonos system, my understanding is you have a sonos amp, which then feeds zone players around the house, where each zoneplayer supply's the chosen room?
I was looking at the wired system, if there is such a thing...
