Went to install a few extra sockets into dado trunking in an office, nice easy one for a saturday morning. Checked ring continuity at first socket to tap into ring, no continuity, went on to discover spurs off spurs big style, 6 sockets spurred off ring on one side of office, 7 spurred off ring...

Does anybody else have problems with the design of the fuse holder of an MK Logic fused spur? I hate the bloody things!
They can be very difficult to remove sometimes and can easily be chipped when levering away with a screwdriver. Also, latching back in can be a real test too.
I've used MK...

I'm planning a job for a client which (amongst other things) includes installing a pondpump.
I've just seen the pump they've bought, and it's designed to be wired directly off a fused spur.
That's fine, but as there's also going to be power to some outdoor sockets for some other...

Hi all, My Conservatory is being built, the total area is 10M sq. The electrician has installed wiring (1st fix) but I was a bit surprised that the power ring main is not continuous but merely a spur to the two double power sockets. This spur looks as if it will be wired into an existing...
Called to look at a job the other day and noticed the customer was having a new conservatory added to the house. The conservatory company included the sockets and light point in their price when the cutomer accepted the quote. Anyways while there i decided to have a look, the guy has run all the...
I'm having a new kitchen fitted... I realise it's a good idea to have accessible spurs for my appliances. Thing is I don't want the walls cluttered with spurs. Is there a maximum distance from switch to the appliance, like the idea of having the switches together, like on a grid may be.
Thanks
Hi there,
I'm new, so apologies if this is an obvious question. I'm coming to you guys as my Dad is in Australia for a month, I don't want to phone him on the beach if I can avoid it...

Hi all this is first time I've posted so appologies if I've missed anything out.
Recently just done a i&t and the ring main in one part of the commercial building is completely "ballsed up" to say the least. Spurs off spurs with rings of them and even more spurs off them. Going to have to...

About to start a contract monday for fitted kitchens and ive heard the guys who are doing the sparky work at the moment just put sockets inside cuboards or behind the appliances. Now ive always put a spur above and a flex outlet plate below for easy local isolation.
