Does anyone know if there is a replacement for the wylex NB type 2s. I need to add rcd protection to an existing circuit but unsure if there is an rcbo that will replace it or do I fit a separate rcd?
Hi All
I'm looking for an old cover, cream if anyone has one kicking around. Have an old Wylex unit on a renovation project working on and know the board should probably be changed but over budget!
Happy to send some beer tokens if anyone has one. 6 way.
Cheers

Hi so any ideas on din mounted MID rated single phase kwh meter? I am required to fit a meter for sockets in a unit. At the moment the sockets are fed from a 32a mcb in a wylex plastic D.B. older type. See photo. All suggestions treated in confidence and will be touted as my own brilliant idea...
I'm looking for 2 x Wylex 4-way fuse covers in dark grey.
I've searched the Internet in the hope of finding some, but haven't had any joy. If anyone has any of these covers going spare, please get in touch. I'll cover your postage costs and make a donation to your drinking fund. :D
I see that Wylex have introduced a newer A3 NMX CU, with slightly more pleasing lines than their NM range;

Guys,
I'm aware that 3036's come in Type 1,2 & 3 with different max fault current capacities. What I don't know is how you tell the difference between the Types.
Also, if you assume a Type 1 at 1Ka, what would you code an installation with Type 1 rewireables with a PFC of 1.42Ka? The...

Could anyone tell me a rough timeline on old Wylex fuseboards....
The brown ones, the wooden base ones, the ones with the insulated backs... the cream coloured ones... any info would be appreciated
Thanks

Hi guys just wondering if someone can clear something up? Been to look at a consumer unit change, but old one is located in the meter cupboard. I have heard in the past that consumer units can't be placed in the meter cupboard. Just wondering as I am replacing and cables go there, can I just...
I thought Wylex 25A MCBs weren't available in the NHX range, but I've seen them for sale on a famous auction site and one or two other places, yet the big electrical suppliers don't generally list them. My concern is that they may be counterfeit, I have ended up with fake B20s in the past which...
Hi all, just a question please? Went to look at a job yesterday and customer wants a hob and cooker wired in but no existing cabling. Had a look at the CU and found it was a Wylex NS804 no RCD but just wanted to ask if it is possible to fit a RCBO to these boards or should I be looking at a...
Due to a burnt out 80a rcd on a wylex split board consumer unit, the consumer unit now only has one 80a rcd which all circuits (mcbs) are wired to, so a new 80a rcd has been bought to reinstate the split board. The issue is that the original live and neutral cables that linked the mcbs together...
Sorry for the long post in advance.!!
Looking for thoughts on this and some guidance.
I'm on a contract renewing bathrooms and kitchens which includes fuseboard replacement. 80% of the properties have a metal mantel cabinet with old non RCD internal skeleton cu. We have been installing the wylex...
ive got a customer who says her 6amp mcb on lights trips in a variety of different ways sometimes almost immiedietly other times varying from a few mins to an hour or more. ive asked her if it trips when a particular switch is on she says it does it with all lights off, any ideas? rodents maybe...
Do wylex do a high integrity dual rcd metal consumer unit? I had a look on Google. But I need 15 usable ways for MCBs. Can't seem to find one. Screwfix do a 15 way one but it only accommodates 12 mcbs by the look of it.
Does anybody have any information about any legal action (whether concluded or on-going) against Electrium/Wylex because of their recalled MCB's?
Thanks!

Wickes are currently selling off their plastic Wylex stocks, instore prices are lower than their online prices, from GBP 14.99 for a Twin RCD board (minus breakers). (An 80amp RCD in its own costs GBP 35 though!)
