Hi guys, can anyone advise if the WRS80/2 (the current version in Lifeline boards) is compatible with earlier Wylex boards from busbar and prong type/spacing perspectives?
I have a feeling that the board which requires a replacement has a busbar which is solid copper with half circles cut out...
Hi folks,
carrying out an EICR yesterday. Board is a split Wylex (main switch with the rcd covering half the board). All circuits are on the rcd side.
Problem I encountered was trying to take 'no trip' Zs readings, the rcd always trips. The meter (1520) is definitely on the correct setting...
Hi,
Does anyone know of any other MCB that could be used as an alternative for old style Wylex MCB for a U shaped bus bar. The style of Wyler breaker is now obsolete so looking for an alternative rather than replace a three phase board.
Thanks
If anyone's got an NB20 type 2 (the really old ones) kicking around they could sell me kindly PM me.....Need one following a small job today (pond socket back to back with an inside socket). Recently refurbed house, lots of electrics done, NAPIT cert showing all tests, including as expected r1,rn...
Hi guys, No doubt been asked before but I'm trying to source a replacement for a Wylex 125amp MCCB > NHGPCB1253.
Not in production now, possibly not for a few years now going by some comments I've seen on the IET site.
Wylex Tec Dept suggested change whole panel. Not an option. I've tried Rare...
My mate has an old wylex board with the push in rewireable fuses; and has asked about fitting an rcd to one circuit (a ring main) that supplies one outside socket (at the mo he's using a plug in portable rcd when using the mower). He does not want a new consumer unit, and i know that rcbo's are...
HELLO ALL
i am changing over a cu.
i have conducted basic testing before deciding to change over to a dual RCD wylex 17th ed board.
The board's RCDs and main switch were prewired.
The neutral cable comes out of one rcd and into another and out again from the same terminal and directly back...
I ave purchased a Wylex metal consumer unit but they don't seem to supply accessories e.g. glands/grommets. Where can I get appropriate ones that conform to amendment 3 or are any suitable?:saddam:
My girlfriends stepdad replaced an old light fitting for a new one and blew the fuse. It was connected to an old re-wireable 5a wylex fuse. It's an old 1960's house wired in singles. Non of the cables are identified. At first glance i presumed he had connected the switch wire into the neutral...
I've picked up my first 3rd Amendment CU, a Wylex one. Inside was a sheet containing recommendations for maintaining IP ratings for cable entries and when using a TT supply, bottom right in attachment. Now I thing I'm right in saying that the pictured 100ma RCCB's are manufactured in insulated...
I've been having a clear out and I've various RCBO's that are surplus to requirements now.
They are as follows;
Crabtree Starbreaker, 2 x 16A type B 30mA, 2 x 6A type C 30mA.
Square D, 1 x 16A type B 30mA.
Schneider, 1 x 16A type B 30mA.
Hager, 5 x 6A type B 30mA, 3 x 16A type B 30mA, 2 x 20A...
Anyone notice anything odd about this board, in particular the main neutral linking bar?!
And before anyone asks, both the enclosure and mounting plate are steel.
This has really got me questioning both my basic electrical theory, and Wylex's, because if I'm right (which I'm certain I am)...

Hi
I would like to fit a 10.5KW shower the mcb is 45Amps
doing a calculation 10.5KW @ 240V= 43.75A
10.5KW @ 230V = 45.65Amps would this be enough over current to cause nuisance tripping on a 45A breaker
would a modern Wylex RCBO fit onto an old (probably the first RCD main switch wylex board) with NB30 breakers. got to fit one for a shower and do question the compatibility?
many thanks in advance.
So adding a couple of circuits to the garage/workshop (socket radial either side) but having an issue locating some 20A MK C Type RCBOs at a decent non RRP price (I ain't paying £30 odd quid each - yes for my own garage I'm a cheap git :P ) (sockets are for compressor / other stuff with decent...
Hi,
does anyone know if wylex 60898's can replace it 3871 equivalent?
Just need to fit a 45a MCB for new shower a customer has fitted but he has 3871 board and I'm struggling to find a 45a 3871 and would rather fit a new mcb anyway.
Its the Wylex NSB type 2 MCB's. Couldn't get access to the...
I have 10 wylex boards for sale, they are new and boxed.
