There was another company up by Burnley called A.R.D. Electronics doing similar stuff they were taken over by CPC in about 2004

i first dealt with cpc in the '70's. 2nd hand tv valves , came wrapped in newspaper, a fraction of the price of new ones. could afford a few duff ones.
