Whole estates of 100's of houses built in the 90's onwards by reputable national buiilders under a NHBC buildmark have 10mm earthing conductors on 60A 1361 type 2's service heads marked with a pme label. Someone within their design teams must hold a firm belief that this is appropriate. I guess though that this will be discussed for ever more withopinion polarised and that I will be confused for evermore..

Maybe since then some of those houses have burnt down and they've had to reconsider?

I'm 99% sure that using the adiabatic equation on all types of 100A BS 88/1361s, the results given require only a 10mm earthing conductor to be used for any of them, hence why I very rarely fit 16mm earthing conductors for domestic work. I have a couple of 100m rolls of 10mm in my van at all times for bonding, I'm not gonna spend the extra money on anything larger than 10mm unless I have to.

I tend to use 16mm just because it's easier and I'd rather go too big than too small. I suppose it could be classed as laziness.

Purely out of interest, and I'm not having a pop at ya, what's easier about using 16mm as opposed to 10mm? Personally, I find 10mm a whole loit easier to navigate around a CU.

You're absolutely correct, of course. I do indeed use 10mm. Don't know what I was thinking. :rolleyes4::rolleyes4::rolleyes4::rolleyes4::rolleyes4:

YOU SHOULD HAVE AN APPRENTICE FOR BRUSHING UP. :juggle:
