Hi guys and girls, hope your all enjoying your Sunday, be it work or pleasure.

as I have said before, I am at college doing the 2365 L2, just about to fin yr 1 of it in the next 6 or so weeks, am currently building up kit for work as a mate / trainee / gopher, was looking at the Fluke T90, but have heard that fluke kit is well known amongst electricians to have a limited life

(i forget the term, but its a kind of inbuilt failure idea, only designed to last a little while)....pre determind failure sort of thing ?

...anyway if someone can shed light on this, or advise another route to take away from the T90 for whatever reason,...i am all ears,......also, lockout kits, big or small kits, any advice on where to get good deals ??

as always, thanks in advance to you all

I have got a compressor but it's in my parents shed, something that's due to come to my house when I make space, I'll have to give them a blow out.

it winds me up something chronic when you see people bring a bag a filthy tools in and drop it on the floor, i prefere to look presentable and take clean tools into people's houses. I always roll a stair carpet dust sheet out to the point I am working so I can leave my shoes on.

maybe it's just me being clean and presentable, I presume people look at the bigger picture and see a bag of dirt then think you will probably make a mess in their house.

Those joker spanners look nice, I would imagine they are of good quality being wera, I wonder if I can find somewhere that stocks any of them so I can take a nosey. I think the mrs will kill me if I spend any more, I've got the second baby arriving in about 3 weeks and my hard earner should be going towards baby clothes and nappies!

Spanners wise, i think it as got to be Britool, facom , snap on.
yes i know they are not cheap, but i learnt my lesson while tightening a bolt on a crab unit on a crane 30ft in air, leaning over the side and the bloody cheap monkey metal spanner snapped in half, almost sending me straight over the edge.
Anything over 13mm in my opinion as to be quality made.

Which britool?

The ones ove got were not that expensive, the reason im asking about the joker spanners is that I nearly skinned my knuckles from it sliding on 8mm bolts on framework for panels

Im going back 15 years ago mate when they were expensive .

Are you sure it didn't snap as you are really the person in your profile pic and can bend angle iron like a tooth pic!

Yes that is actually me in the photo, Re the spanner in question it was something like a 28mm, and i was hanging over the edge of the crane, thought i was a gonna when it snapped then i went straight out and bought some Britool spanner's.

You'll only need a basic kit. Hammer- claw and lump, bolster chisel, sidecutters, pliers-bullnose and radio, a set of drivers, hacksaw etc.
Obviously you'll have to pay for quality gear but that will last a lot longer than poundshop crap, buy a bit each payday and before you know where you are you'll have a good set built up.
Maybe you should look at the CK Magma kit, I've seen them on fleabay for under £200
he`ll be/should be getting aquainted with these a lot first off i`d say...

It's a bit like my other stuff, looks sexy when all matching, I only gave it all a clean yesterday, wasn't expecting to take photos today!

The screwdrivers are breading like rabbits!

A tip for the people who never clean there kit, 50p pack of wet wipes, give them a good wipe down, gets rid of most of the dirt and brings them up nice and shiny again, I do it every couple of weeks, if you look after your kit, it looks after you!

Ive got a few drivers as well
