Hi guys and girls, hope your all enjoying your Sunday, be it work or pleasure.

as I have said before, I am at college doing the 2365 L2, just about to fin yr 1 of it in the next 6 or so weeks, am currently building up kit for work as a mate / trainee / gopher, was looking at the Fluke T90, but have heard that fluke kit is well known amongst electricians to have a limited life

(i forget the term, but its a kind of inbuilt failure idea, only designed to last a little while)....pre determind failure sort of thing ?

...anyway if someone can shed light on this, or advise another route to take away from the T90 for whatever reason,...i am all ears,......also, lockout kits, big or small kits, any advice on where to get good deals ??

as always, thanks in advance to you all

It's a bit like my other stuff, looks sexy when all matching, I only gave it all a clean yesterday, wasn't expecting to take photos today!

The screwdrivers are breading like rabbits!

A tip for the people who never clean there kit, 50p pack of wet wipes, give them a good wipe down, gets rid of most of the dirt and brings them up nice and shiny again, I do it every couple of weeks, if you look after your kit, it looks after you!

...uksparks, minus the powertools, how much cash is in these pics ?....knipex kit...drooooollllllll .........DO WANT!!........!

I dkbt know, quite a lot though, look on the net at the prices, I get most if mine of Amazon or eBay, I think the username in eBay is xpn1 that I usually buy from...

the powertools, hmmm there's probably £1700 ish on their own I think.

Have you not got any torx drivers?

A bought a set a while ago and im glad I did cause some switchgear that was working on needed it for tails

Oh mate i was impressed right up to the point when i saw the coffee stirrer / bottom right tut tut tut tut.

I know this sounds really bad and agree its a tea stirrer, but you know when you want to chop into the middle of a length if cable and are confident you have isolated the circuit, it's kind of useful just as a mild form of non gs38 approved reassurance that really shouldn't be relied on to see if there's any power left in it!

I have got the allen keys, and some torx in the screwdriver pic, anything larger I use my Stanley gold out torx bits or a set if ends on the basis it's dead and no chance of live parts.

Spark2b, the lockout kits, I just got all the bits individually instead of buying a kit, the master lock stuff I think is the one people generally buy, make sure you have enough parts, so you can lock off the majority of breakers etc. I'll be honest I don't use my as much as I should. 99% of the time I do, but then you get a breaker where it's awkward and think did it, but clearly that's the wrong attitude and I should be severely punished for not always following safe isolation. I am only reckless when I know the person or know there's no way it's going to be touched.

always follow correct safe isolation though!

What are they? I just have a set if halfords spanners and sockets, funnily enough I hardly ever use them but had to get them out yesterday to remove a ceiling fan that was bolted to the joist!

Uksparks this will probably interest you

Hilti TE 6-C 110V is my preferred weapon.
You're dead right about cleaning, a quick brush or wipe after use to get rid of the garbage.
Looks like you need get to some compressed air on your power tools uksparks! :)
