Alarm control panel

Ok think it time to get new panel i think they are about £50

Can you recommend a new one? I take it the 800l is not being manufactured any more. Want one that's going to be the easiest to change seen as I'm doing it for free lol

Sorry i havent fitted an alarm for about 10 years but would say any basic alarm should do try somthing like this Honeywell accenta mini gen4 alarm panel, intruder alarm panels, 8SP399A UK

Just put my megger on a brand new d battery it's coming back at 10v so guess the megger does read dc. Just to clarify the panel should still work off mains when no battery connected?

The component on the top of the pcb, mounted to the steel heat sink is the voltage regulator....3 pins....centre is 0v left is input, right is output.....this component needs to be measured for voltage

I take it if there's voltage at the in and not at the out then this components faulty. What could it be if there's voltage at both in and out?

Bottom in, top out and centre 0v?

Yes, this component regulates the voltage to 13.8v dc and this is the crucial device

could be several things, dry joint, blown pcb track, faulty component/s.

Just want to make sure not to check anything else why I'm there and won't be around during the week. If it's something to do with the pcb I'll just replace it can be more hassle than it's worth fixing the pcb

The reg is the first call, the 1n4001 diode is the only other ( call fault diode to protect all other components) these are the only 2 on this pcb...

I'm there now both bottom and centre aswell as top and centre are showing 0v

Sorry bottom and centre showing as 1v but 15v coming out the transformer

Could this be the problem?

Ok centre should 0v right should be 13 pus volts, right should be 13.8v........measure centre & right, the centre & left
