with regards to gas will find out when other half get in, and the water thing thats just plumbers putting pipes in stupid places, lol

do plumbers ever not put pipes in stupid places?

Up until last November you could do gas work in your own home and not be gas registered, I'm not sure if that is still the case.

And also upto last november I bought a 1200mm bayonet gas hose for my hob, granted I never fitted it a mate did, but he was the one who told me that I could have done it myself as you can do work in your own home.

i've just replaced the 15w lamp in the electric oven at home. do i have to notify LABC as it's in a kitchen? or should i notify the grot squad coza now i caqn see all the crud in the oven?

It was more plumber turns up to fix pipe, shears head of isolation valve, bodges a leak then leaves.. Two hours later we have a (greater than domestic) mains pressure leak on the 1st floor, flooding the 1st & ground floors and starts major flooding the cellar (where the incoming mains and db's are).

All stopcocks seized (the one's we could find). I had to saw through the pipe and fit an end cap.... that was fun with that water pressure.

AS PER USUAL A SPARK SAVES THE DAY!!!!

well plumbers are stupid and im allowed to say that as i live with one,lol oh correction gas fitter/plumber got to get it right.
and he always says that a sparky job is easy but like you have just wrote RWJ it takes a sparky to do a plumbers job

my argument is gas you can smell it, water you can see and hear it, electricity until it bites you don't have a clue. leave it all to the trained competent people!!!!!

Yes and a message to the powers that be must be you made the part p rules to cut electrical accidents in the home so back us up for **** sake !!!!!!!!!!

I fitted the B+Q cheapie,it was supplied by the punter
Gotta admit,it was OK
