£50 for a British General 10w 100a ms 80a & 63a rcds & mcbs !
and im trying to charge £350 supplied & fitted ! whats this saying to customers ? Im rich and my matress is stuffed with gold !

I do hope you charged more than 200 to fit this
Very neat by the way

Oh yes board with the RCBO's in it cost over £120.00 thanks for comments ,pennywise is right i like to get this pic out , lol its not the only one that looks like that honest lol ,as for charging if you use a decent board test properly then it could take you a day or more if you have to install bonding as well it could cost more , a CDU change should cost no less than £350 due to the fact that the work has to be notified ,all work tested and this takes time , time is money , when you compair it to garages who charge £95 an hour £760 plus parts then £350 inc parts is good value

Look guys you can get oil filter, Air filter and Oil cheap at Halfords and do a service yourself , but a garage will charge a lot more, Thats life certain folk want a pro some dont ............ Get used to peps being able to buy stuff at almost trade I can assure you its not gonna stop, better thinking of ways to prove why a pro (like yourself) should install these items than wasting your time moaning about. The phone aint gonna ring if you dont educate those that want to get pro help, Those days are over. The UK are forever wanting everythink cheap , holidays shopping etc When i watch british TV all is see is price ....cheap.....save you never here Quality, craftmanship. Educate your customers and get on with it NOW!!!

Have to admit i did buy the parts to service my gsxr1000k7 without the shop wanting to see proof that im a motorcycle technician and then a bag of onecoat from B&Q from tradepoint without wanting to see a plastering cert etc so your point is valid since programs like craig phillips if its broke fix it and tommy walsh diy program & diy sos etc the diy shops seem flooded weekends so i suppose most trades suffer couple of yrs ago i have to admit done bricklaying, plumbing & plastering courses to save me shed loads of cash doing my house up so its swings and roundabouts i suppose as we all know to well the dangers that electricity can pose but also on the flip side i could remove a wall at home with no knowledge of if it was a supporting wall or not and could bring the house down on my family or if i was on the ground floor of a high rise block of flats and did the same ! just feel the scheme members, powers that be and insurance companies as well as LABC, government etc could do more to get knowledge out to the public of the implications of diy electrics ! it dont help with you can do this but not that (with the non notifyable stuff joe public can do with no electrical understanding or even testing ) part p crap that we can understand but not many joe public do or even know its existence ! The way i see it is getting time served sparks to be included in this scheme crap is quite frankly an insult ! we should be able to take our JIB or quals to the LABC and notify direct with exeptence !
Bloody ell ent i a Victor Meldrew lol
