£50 for a British General 10w 100a ms 80a & 63a rcds & mcbs !
and im trying to charge £350 supplied & fitted ! whats this saying to customers ? Im rich and my matress is stuffed with gold !

£200 for a board change!!.......one thing we godda do hayes..get outa this business!!!!...........................................................................................speechless:6:

Im a very picky guy hen i comes to CU's stuck im my ways , but after the electrium recall i have been looking for alternative , my verdict Square D dont like them just me hate the curly leads on the RCBO's have used MCG Niglon Prolec all cheap boards bit flimsy but ok ,contactum hate them stupid little flappy doors , so today i tried an MK cracking sockets etc , but i will never ever use another one ,flimsy is not the word ,put the main earth to the earth bar and it pulled out the earth bar neutral bar had a right job to refix it so for me its back to wylex crabtree , sector

we have to use cheap and very nasty chint boards at work, no room to work in them, all neutral leads are solid so you cannot reconfigure the board in any way, they are pants!

but have found that the mcb's and rcbo's fit nearly every board apart from square d, which is good if you need a quick fix.

Look guys you can get oil filter, Air filter and Oil cheap at Halfords and do a service yourself , but a garage will charge a lot more, Thats life certain folk want a pro some dont ............ Get used to peps being able to buy stuff at almost trade I can assure you its not gonna stop, better thinking of ways to prove why a pro (like yourself) should install these items than wasting your time moaning about. The phone aint gonna ring if you dont educate those that want to get pro help, Those days are over. The UK are forever wanting everythink cheap , holidays shopping etc When i watch british TV all is see is price ....cheap.....save you never here Quality, craftmanship. Educate your customers and get on with it NOW!!!

I just bought one of these boards from B & Q and needed some extra parts , so drove around to Screw fix, electrical parts, and was asked for id to show that I was a sparks, then I had to sign up and give them my JIB card and tell them the location and ruff date of test, this was done over the phone with not sure who, then I could purchase the parts I wanted CRIMPS, LOL, I was looking at a magazine and noticed the same DB for £10 squid more I pointed out to the worker that B&Q are selling them for £10 squid less, they then went on to say that B&Q owned Screw fix and was going to call head office about this, as they were both local to each other, not sure why B&Q can sell direct and screw fix cant, but I was impressed with the screwfix way, no id no parts, plus you get the parts cheaper,LOL.
Trouble is that B & Q as such are not doing anything illigal by selling electrical equipment to the public, there is no qualifications needed to do any kind of electrical work in a house, all you need to be is competant, and unless the government make it law that someone buying electrical equipment must complete some kind of test before they are sold it then they will continue to sell.

As for doing a DB change over for £200, are you mad, a straight change over is min £300 squid, with test certs, with problems like Nuetrals on lighting circuits nicked for hallway and landing lights time and more customers money come in to play or do you just chuck them on the same circuit to over come this.

The B & Q board was very tight to work with.

not sure either as b&q and screwfix are owned by the same people!

Screwfix Direct Limited is a UK direct and online supplier of trade tools, accessories and hardware products.[SUP][2][/SUP] Founded in 1979 the company was acquired in 1999 by the Kingfisher plc group, which also owns B&Q and is listed on the London Stock Exchange.

maybe they get a little bonus for each person they sign.

They kept sending me membership cards for Electricfix,6 in total, and all indivdual numbers, then I was getting 6 catalouges, all on the same day, the postman must have freaked out

It was supposed to be a discounting section for sparks
The prices seemed no better than I could get elsewhere,is it still going ?
