I will have to get tails from meter more than 15m to consumer unit.
Will also gave to either 12m through concrete floor or through a double skin wall to a room with suspended floor for 10m and back 5m through concrete floor. Whats the best way to do and protect this within regs etc.

Agree with E54 some kind of steel containment or swa. Ideally rewireable for future proofing.
Avoid Rcd protection on the submain for discrimination reasons.

So - 25mm 3core from fused switch in meter cab (no rcd) down cavity in hocky stick. into house and accross floor in cncrete in conduit/duct to csu.
As floor concrete and this whole extension will have vaulted ceiling is best method for sockets etc also trunking in or on concrete. (will be 4 inch of insulation)

Nothing wrong with cables in vaulted ceiling, just make they are in conduit or clipped direct to joists, and not running through the insulation. Also, I always do a full spread of tests before the plasterer arrives in case a cable is faulty/been caught.

No need for it being a steel containment if being laid in the actual slab, it'll also be well below 50mm depth, the float/screed alone would be in the region of 4'' depth!! lol!!

To avoid break in damp seal, builder wants cable under visquine barrier as it enters below damp course. Is pvc ducting ok. Just been for price etc and supplier said it would degrade ??

I bet it'll last longer than any steel/iron ducting!! lol!!! This supplier obviously doesn't supply any of the service providers in his area with duct pipework!! Must be millions of miles of the stuff under pathways and roads in the UK!! lol!!

Had a piece of duct with me stamped.
He seemed to think it was just waste pipe. i assume no difference or is there?

For what you'll be using it for, it shouldn't be any problem at all!! Yes there is a difference, in both the PVC material/compounds used in different types of duct and pipework and often the thickness of the duct/pipe walls... The different grades and types are often identified by colour ....

Thanks for that. what coliur grade should be used for sitting on the visquine prior to concrete being poured.
