Had my first ever call out today, but didn’t have a clue what to charge for a call out fee! Was only there an hour, found the problem and need to back to finish the job as I need to cut a small hole in the ceiling. So I just charged them £50 for the hour I was there.

What is a rough figure for a call out & included time and hour to price from there on in?

I have no issues disclosing pricing / rates...

if anything I wish I had this forum 10 years ago when I was sparking full time , I would have adjusted My rates upward based on forum conversations

no wonder I was rushed of my feet all the time back then as I was probably the cheapest sparks in my area by a mile. But I didn’t know any better.
I was doing an eicr (Pir as it was then) and a complete board change for ÂŁ250 quid.
had I known better I would have doubled my prices and still been cheap

I think you have just proved the point.

This area is open to all who want to see it, any posts on rates of pay and call out charges can be used by the general public to face off with other electricians in any area so I am not sure what it you are asking?
I was asking..... What is the ARMS section? You said - ''Shouldn't this be in the Arms section', so... What is the ARMS section? If I'm posting in the wrong section please direct me to the right section with a link at the very least. Help a fella out?

Thank you Mike, much appreciated, now I know what Arms means.

Remember, people that are relatively new won't be aware of the slang associated with the site and what it means so it's always helpful to fully spell it out.

I will apply, and if I'm given access, I'll definitely use it for that purpose in future.
