Can’t access connection of main bond to water pipe due to being (I assume under hardwood flooring) have confirmed continuity by disconnecting the 10mm at Met clamping on and testing with wander lead to copper pipe where it enters out of kitchen floor, but I can’t confirm the condition of the clamp, how would I record this on EIC? Or is just confirming continuity sufficient?
Incidentally the gas meter is at the top of a wall in the middle of the house, can visually see that clamp...

I ummed and arred over this for two days, no way it needed a bond but the householder had put a mezz level in his rather large garage which made it easy to extend from the water. I could not be bothered with the debate.

but the regs clearly state as near as practicable to the point of entry, so, even though is about 8m, that is the nearest point,

have spent the evening pondering a cable route for this and I think I can do it,I appreciate all the views and opinions I received but as a newbie this is the sort of thing that keeps me awake at night, now this may be a stupid question and I’m sure if it is I’ll be told that!
Anyway assuming I run the new 10mm in to the pipe that is the most practible would you leave the existing water bond in place as well? And note it on the cert? As before I have proved continuity of the cable just not checked the clamp or would you remove old bond?
Like I say this ---- keeps me awake at night! Ha ha
Thanks in advance

You are not 100% certain where the other conductor terminates or its purpose so I would leave it in situ.
thanks westward
