I love everything about Christmas except the daft buggers who stockpile food, stand blocking the supermarket aisles chatting and mad drivers who haven't a minute to live. I love the lights, music and general happy feeling it brings.

You've just described the average woman haha.

Yes yes, im ready for your reply calling me a male chauvinist pig :D

Who likes Christmas? And who doesn't? And why?

I have hated Christmas for the last few years, mainly because my first wife left me one Christmas day. Which was nice of her. However, I'm starting to come around a bit, after all I am remarried and have a small son to enjoy it with. Just wish I had more money to have a nicer time.

My Nan died on christmas day about 25 years ago which was devestating, we have got over that now of course, I actually like christmas because it is the only time of the year the whole building trade actually shut down for a week or 2 and I actually get a break and have a beer, always think of my nan bless her but really like the break.

I am looking forward to seeing my son's reaction to the trampoline we've bought for him. He loves bouncing on the settee so I hope he likes the trampoline better - that sofa cost me a fortune!

pig or not, you're right. worst is those women that bring their screaming brats in double buggies and expect everyone to get out of the way when they block a complete aisle gobbing off to likewise imbeciles.

Cant understand why idiots stockpile food, the shops are only shut for 2 days.

I don't bother with Christmas nowadays, partly because when I was a teenager our Christmases seemed to turn into an episode of Eastenders, partly because I don't get invited to family Christmases any more, and partly because I just don't want to.
As an 'outsider' to Christmas it all seems to have got out of control - there seems to be too much emphasis on hosting the 'best', most extravagant event ever which I think is largely to blame for some of the stockpiling of food - better to waste it than the possibility of somebody thinking you've provided a poor spread.
I think it's got far too material now, when I think it should be a time for people to get together and get on in an amicable fashion. It doesn't help that it's rammed down everyone's throats from about October when Christmas doesn't even begin until Christmas day itself; by the end of Christmas day everyone is absolutely sick and tired of it, the shops move onto promoting the sales and move away from Christmas, which technically doesn't finish until 12 days later.

No, not at all Mark. I'm not an average woman, so I've been told........:gorgeous: I get annoyed too. And as another poster said why do people buy enough food to feed a battalion when the shops are only closed for one day! Most bits and pieces can be bought from petrol stations anyway so I don't get it. Life won't end because we've forgotten the asparagus tips and salmon. :santa3:

buy from petrol stations????????? a bloody sandwich there costs as much as a full pub meal with a pint!. and the greedy buggers add 40p to a packet of smokes. the only things i buy from petrol stations are fuel and newspapers ( they'd charge double for the papers if they hadn't got the price printed on them, robbing tw*ts)

I mean bread or milk, or essentials. I wouldn't buy sarnies from petrol stations anyway. It's cheaper to make your own and at least you know where your hands have been! :gettree: smokes??? smokes??? How dare you use the F word! I have no vices.

christ. i miss the days when you could go fill up without having to worry about all those ----ers doing their weekly shop. now i have to plan my trips to the petrol station.

I went through a phase of hating it, there's an awful lot of phoniness kicking around at this time of year. Why should the person who just sold me a gift for someone actually give a damn whether I have a nice christmas or not they just earned the commission on the sale! Then the kids came along and I started to love it all over again (apart from the phoniness of course) then along come our grandson and I'm like a kid myself again.
All that said, I hate the crap lights on King Street (Tidyboiler, Geordie, Alarm Man and a few others know what I mean) I never ever want to hear another Cliff Bloody Richard song again as long as I live and if one more person TELLS me to have a nice christmas the reply will be "or else?"

Well Trev, I think it's probably better to be told "Have a nice day/Christmas" by someone who doesn't mean it than "Pi$$ off" by someone who does. :rolleyes4:
