That report has too many errors throughout it to be worth the paper that it is written on. There is no way on the planet that the Ze + R1+R2 for every circuit magically equals Zs. A 35mA RCD now that says it all.

Wingers,

have you actually paid for your reports yet?

Don't think much to his 'quote' either. Cheap on the CU change yet v. expensive on the bonding I'd say. (I notice he doesn't mention what make of CU he'd be using, some 'ccc' no doubt)

thats what i thought earthing porvided by the suppliers and an earth rod one or the other i spotted loads of errors 1mm lighting cable with 1 mm cpc when it hasnt got one look at my previouse post to see what i spotted , on the subject some 6mm twe does have a 4mm cpc so it could be

Not yet, got invoice this morning

Will have to email him and query some of the bits you have all mentioned and ask what make CU he would fit

You sure about that? I've come across 7/044 - 7/029 imperial cable and can see how it might be mistaken for 6.0/4.0 (actual csa would be 6.9/3.0)

If this installation that has been PIR'd is 40+ years old then none of the cable sizes noted in this report are correct, it would have all been wired in imperial sizes. So those 6 mm T&Es would have been 7.044 with a stranded 3.036 cpc The 2.5mm T&ES 7.029 with a 3.029 cpc.

yes im sure had a roll a couple of years ago with the sizes printed on it think it was draka if im not mistaken

Well, thanks. You've learnt me summat tonight. I've never come across it myself. Can't help wondering, why make that size combo?

Obviously calculated all ZS's and not took a measurement :D

Do feel free to open my rating document and save yourself a copy to use next time you're changing a CU on a house with imperial cable. (post #36)

Odd bit of form filling
5419 is an old BS number for a double pole switch, yet it is apparantly a 35m/amp Rcd
4293 is the old Rcd No
The rating of the Rcds are usually 63 amp not 60 ,something amiss here

Both tick boxes checked for suppliers earth and TT.
If its TT, its one cracker of an earth path, with just 0.22 ohms, yet a low Pfc of just 0.5Ka

I take it that the reading for the rod was taken at the Met without removing the conductor, and a Pme or Tns connection was beeing recorded

Look on the bright side, there is uniform brilliance as far as the insulation resistance of the installation is concerned, :)
