Connecting 6.0mm T&E

Running a 20A 6.0mm T&E radial to utility room to supply two single 13A sockets to feed Washing Machine and Tumble Dryer.

The T&E will be terminated in a PVC adaptable box, just wondering how to make the connection to the sockets as terminals
will not take 6.0mm.

Can I use connector strip using 4.0mm or 2.5mm to feed the sockets, was hoping to use Wago but they too will not take 6.0mm.
Is there connector out there that will do the job.

Done exactly that before, existing 6mm supply repurposed for a dishwasher, washing machine and tumble dryer just used 3 single Mk socket they take 2x 6mm don't mess around with additional connectors to drop the cable size

why not a 32Amp radial then? give you some headroom then on the circuit.

Cant seem to find them, would you be able to supply a link. 6mm is already there, originally intended for garden shed but unused so using it for utility room. Over engineered i know but its there.

screwfix sell them (code 25805).

Even if he did manage to get them both in, you'll be stripping the screw head before you attained a good solid and lasting connection.

As already said you can get a twin terminal socket for each conductor. If not go for the MK single termination socket. I've got 2 lots of 6mm in before without giving them a hair cut lol. Below is the MK tech spec for a singe termination socket.....


Terminal capacity:
Live, neutral & earth
3 x 2.5mm2
3 x 4mm2
2 x 6mm2 (stranded)

2x 6.0mm conductors will go into an MK socket no problem,but as previously stated they need to be cut square and stripped carefully. Insert into terminal as stripped,dont twist the cores up.
Also dont fit the standard lazy a-rse 25mm flush back box,35mm minimum....45 even better.

It is difficult to stick 2 6mm2 cables into a socket, however the whole thing is wrong. Assuming the 6mm2 is already in place and therefore the OP intends to use it the best method would be a double socket rather than 2 singles, job done, move on LOL

I'd be tempted to put in a sub db so when the client changes their mind about the shed you can add it on easily!

Well I'll take your word for it, however I still hope I never come across 2 x 6mm in the back of a socket! Ugh and on a 25mm box as well, no ta!
