Much though I hate using terms like "bulb" and "plug socket", I do mostly domestic work, and these are the terms most of my customers use. Sometimes it is just easier to use their terms, rather than start to explain how bulbs grow in the ground, etc. Plus it can come across a bit rude to be correcting all their terminology.

that's OK.they can have their plugs here and there, but it's up to us to fit the sockets for these plugs to plug into.

or you could always tell them to get a plumber to fit a plug.
