I have a funny story about a reel lead just like that

I was working on a building site about 15 years ago and a couple of the builders were worried about getting a whack off their extension lead every time they plug or unplug something ( their hand must have been brushing up very close against the live pin )

at the time I hadn't seen the offending reel lead so didn't know what was wrong so said I would take a look 'in a minute'

as I was walking over to see the builders lead I head a loud scream and then saw the builder laying on the floor right next to the lead clutching his right hand, he had only tried to pull the live pin out while still LIVE with a pair of insulated long nose pliers

i took my vde pliers out and yanked the offending pin out

The two lighting cables to the left were for cabinet under lighting came out directly below the cable run and also a double socket directly below the two 2.5’s on the right
It seems grossly unfair that he hit almost 100% in the electrical department and 0% in the plumbing department....

Speaking of prescribed zones.

Property shows on TV. Awful.
Last nights was “Worst House On The Street” where a developer buys the worst house on the street and does it up a bit….
“Fitting these (sponsored) bath taps can add £thousands to the value….”

No… no it can’t.

So watching through as the naive developer sacks the first lot of builders… goes with more expensive ones, crashing through her budget… (wanted to spend £30k… with a little help from mommy and daddy… blew £78k on it and didn’t even touch the garden)

This scene pops up as they show the progress…

Unless there’s another socket out of shot above that chase, then vertical run isn’t in any prescribed zones.

Edit. I just noticed a cross on the wall beneath the vertical run…. Labelled “coax”
I think they forgot.
