Discuss Green Deal Update in the Solar PV Forum | Solar Panels Forum area at ElectriciansForums.net

ECO's funding is for ECO not Green Deal unless he's got access to that now too. If anyone has he will :)

Apparently there is still only 1 completed Green Deal plan in the country. Delays with funding via the providers allegedly. There are a number of Linked In forums discussing the vagaries of Green Deal few are positive although most are interesting in respect of all the problems that seem to be cropping up around GD. It remains to be seen whether the government will manage to remove sufficient bureaucracy to make it understandable and attractive to installers and householders. Long way to go I think...

Advert in our local paper for doorstep sellers for govt energy efficiency grant - my heart sank!

there are no green deal installs happening yet!! next month there maybe loads

Do you reckon Green Deal might quietly slip away once ECO gets going?? I think the govt will claim success of GD via ECO and say that's what they intended all along. greg Barker has blogged about trusting tradesmen and all the systems they have put in place so you know you can trust you tradesman. http://blog.decc.gov.uk/2013/04/08/put-the-consumer-first/ did make me smile - how far removed from reality are these politicians!

SRE

The GD is not going anywhere mate there has been gd assessments lodged and works will be happening as soon the GD finance company are ready. the uk needs the gd but there are things yes that need to be ironed out, Q,when you getting involved?? lol

What 2 GDPs instead of 1 lol. It will be next year before I contemplate it. I've just been offered free training to become a GDA again - it's not my cup of tea. I've done it before and I'm not keen to go back for the pittance that's being offered. MCS & REAL do my head in nevermind anything else!

We're still on the fence as well, though we are authorised installers for PV which was only a paperwork exercise. How far into it are you Sedgy?

Really for us its escalated under the pas 2030 we only went for solar pv as it was free
now we are pas 2030 for boilers, controls, underfloor heating,lighting,pipe/cylinder insulation, boilers,Ewi,CWI,Iwi,Loft insulation
PPPHHHHHEEEWWWWWW!!!

so, care to let on how many of those categories you actually have experience of installing and the equipment to do it?

I can't imagine the cavity wall insulation kit is going to come cheap, although I guess there's probably a lot of bankrupt stock going at auction.

also pas230 for cylinder insulation... what you mean like putting a cylinder jacket on and not covering the immersion heater... are they going to make us be pas 2030 for tying our shoe laces next?

So we employ a plumber and we are gas safe registered and we use subbies too when required!
The solar, lighting all electrics & mechanical is down to me Sedgy 34
my co director is by trade a plasterer/renderer and has also done the GDA
the only trade we sub out is Cavity wall as you stated the equipment is expensive but having said that we do aim to do it in house based on demand.
we didn't write the annexes on the pas 2030 but as we have been assessed for all measures I mentioned we are fully qualified and accredited we just hope it all pays off really.

fair enough.

Watch out for the water penetration down the back of the EWI around the windows etc, I hear a fair size company came a cropper up here on a council job with that and ended up having to strip the lot off and start again from several dozen houses.

Is there actually a practical assessment for the pas 2030 for each technology?
