cannot access anything except the forum titles. can't get my profile, can't pm, systems gone into mobile and i can't back to default unless i log out.

phil, i was using firefox. tried through IE and still the same. tried my other pc and still the same. it seems it's stuck in mobile style and won't come out of it, but if i'm logged out, it,s back to default blue/orange. could it be an incompatibility with harmonized cable colours?

yeh mate its canalec :D have you tried clearing your history and cookies? just a long shot and im not all that clued up on comps so don`t blame me if it goes pete tong :D

Try this:- Clear Windows DNS Cache - Tech-Recipes

Sounds like a cache problem with your router/isp.

I can't replicate such an issue. And have reinstated the standard forum design due to another problem. This you may have a cache of in your router, or somewhere on your ISP's network, which would still deliver an old copy of the forum, the copy with an issue.

Clear your DNS cache, turn off your internet connection or router, shut down the PC, start the router with the PC still off, wait for it to connect to the net, and then start the PC and try again.

Anyone know what this means then?

Error 500--Internal Server Error

From RFC 2068 Hypertext Transfer Protocol -- HTTP/1.1:

10.5.1 500 Internal Server Error

The server encountered an unexpected condition which prevented it from fulfilling the request.

Its all gone wrong since Bill came back .......conspiracy theory

Heh - I just noticed this....I probably overloaded the server with my 3000 line posts lol :)

I've taken the blame for everything else today - so might as well add this to the list :)

And yes, before you all ask - it is my fault your job went to hell in a handcart today :) It is my fault your missus burnt the dinner, it is my fault Iceland blew up again and spat clouds of ash all over us, it's my fault OBAMA is in the UK/Ireland - but on the good side, it's also my fault the French have to put up with him next :)

Start a new thread....."It's Bill's fault because........" Lol!

Invariably, despite what it says - it's a browser issue and not a server issue.

What it is really trying to say is that it couldn't figure out what the server was telling it to do.

Which browser was that error in?

What were you trying to do when getting the Error 500?

That can happen at server level but would suggest something serious has happened and we'd all 'feel it'. We've not been offline for 1 month, since the last reboot of all services, and it takes a minute and is done when nobody is online. Shouldn't happen at peak ever.

Your right it's normally down to a bad request, quite often a "get" type form submission that's gone Pete Tong.

Don't you just love PHP

LOL@ nick. to dan tried all that .. no go. it's like normal when i bring up the forum although all the text is very small, but when i log in i get all white with highlights in blue, and the sponsors vertically below the forum titles. these forum titles just give last post, no number of replies or page numbers. i can't got to settings, no option at the bottom of default blue or anything. can't read " likes " . below the sponsors all i get is " log ot, register, full site, top."

Yup......not.

It's fine until you find a browser incompatibility - usually at three in the morning - and it only replicates in one version of a given browser, at a specific resolution, or worse, because some plumb forgot to comment something out, didn't put a closing parenthesis, or missed a semi-colon somewhere :)

well, that's it then. blame bill. LOL. another clue i forgot to mention is, as soon as i log on, at the top i get a wishy-washy v-bulletin which i have to click to get the forums list up.
